Vivaldi 1.7RC 1 – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.7.735.36

Works if I change the user-agent to google-chrome on Windows.
Wow, is that actually something that comes up more than extreeeemly rarely? I haven't thought of that since Opera 12, when it was halfway common. The addition of one part in the string (in this case, "Vivaldi/1.7.735.36"), with all the rest being the same, doesn't seem like a reason that a site should do that.
-
@rseiler: The bad kind of browser-sniffing, of "feed broken code to any user agent I don't EXACTLY recognize" still exists.
-
I just wanted to express my happiness until I've realized this community software - in total contrast to the browser - got even worse (*).
OK, thanks a lot for fixing this. Though I'm for month now I'm always too late to every snapshot blog party ("Last!" as the terminal brother of "First!" is practically impossible :big green smile:) it's good to know the users feedback is still considered. -

Looks like new communication software with a browser app that's maybe not tested or supported on other browsers yet.
Just doesn't show the features overlay for unsupported browsers/OS. -
Joomla - JCE-Editor: Tabs doesn't work anymore.

First, I had to use Firefox to post here, Vivaldi didn't grok my login and sent me in a circle back to this page with the reply disabled although I was logged into the community allright.
But my main problem for a couple of releases is, that I can't disable Flash on the plugins page and have it remember that state. Each time I restart Vivaldi, Flash is enabled again.
Vivaldi is my main browser and I do not want it to have Flash enabled for security reasons. I still have Flash on the system to be able to open up another browser and use it there if I should need to. -
Another problem that is as old as Vivaldi itself is, that both the icons on the startpage as well as pages that I load in the sidepanel do not use the installed browser extensions. So for instance ublock origin is off when I create thumbs on the startpage, I have certain pages plastered with advertisement that normally I see without. One page I visit frequently and that also could be nice to have in the sidepanel is unusable there, since it too becomes plastered with ads...
Please make ALL pageloads use the installed privacy and adblock extensions, no matter where! -
@thomashelzle: Do you have 3rd party cookies disabled in Vivaldi by any chance?
If so please whitelist vivaldi.net domain like @pafflick mentioned here:

@pesala: Я так понимаю им грубо говоря пофиг? Они просто методом тыка исправляют какие-либо баги?
-
@AnnetkoO That's why I suggested you should read the linked thread. You're obviously ignorant about the way that bug fixing works if you think that it's a random process.

@isak: Seriously? Outch...

I'm not sure if this has been report. But here are the steps to reproduce the bug i'm experiencing.
1.) Open the address bar drop-down list
2.) Use the down arrow key and select the first entry. ( say its "http://www.google.com/" )
3.) Modify the text thats in the address-bar. ( press 'a', now its "http://www.google.com/a" )The drop-down list freezes. You can't navigate any where or even close the tab. I have to restart Vivaldi.
Windows 10
Vivaldi 1.7.735.36 (Official Build) (32-bit) -
@dleon:
Yes, my drop-down has many addresses. -
@i_use_vivaldi
I can replicate this, and I think it was already reported but I would report it one more time to be sure it gets the due attention.
It's also simply a matter of pressing backspace on the last char of the address selected from the typed history, dropdown list gets stuck and nothing apart a restart of Vivaldi fixes it. Here's my reportSummary: Vivaldi freezes editing typed history url in address bar
Key: VB-25563Vivaldi freezes editing typed history url in address bar
Steps to reproduce:
f8, focus on address bar
cursor down, select one entry from typed history
backspace, try deleting last char of that url, last char gets deleted BUT replaced again for autocompletion, so last char appears selected.
there, Vivaldi is frozen, history dropdown list is stuck, you can't close tabs. Vivaldi needs to be restarted. -
@ian-coog:
Sorry about reporting it again.Here's a .gif of the bug, https://i.imgur.com/09HVk2q.gif
I'm clicking outside the drop-down but it doesn't show in the gif. The drop-down is stuck there.

Maybe someone with Windows could replicate this.see my reply to him, you probably haven't noticed

@ThomasHelzle I recently rebuilt all my SD thumbnails in recent 1.7 snapshot and they seem to have been generated without any ad, I was amazed by this myself that uBlock worked also with thumbs. Can you retry now with this snapshot?
