Login won't work for me and I have no idea what to do...

Hi. Just did some quick testing and there are still some outstanding new bugs and regressions.
Regression: (this snapshot) After upgrade, Vivaldi launches with the correct window size but new windows get opened with the default window size, centred in the screen. Closing Vivaldi and relaunching didn’t fix the problem. It worked correctly after purging my profile, a fresh profile that was only created a few hours prior to the update. (Has anyone else on any platform run into this?)
Major Bug/Regression: Create a Tab Stack of 3 tabs (real web pages, not internal pages) in Window #2, then move it to Window #1 (by right-clicking on the Stack and moving it using the menus). The Tab Stack moves intact but contains blank zombie tabs. Interacting with one of those “blank zombies” (e.g. with File / Save Page As) crashes Vivaldi. In my opinion, this should be a release blocker for v1.7 since it can result in a crash, and is apparently a cross-platform bug.
Regression: (this snapshot) Command-W no longer closes the Preferences window.
Bug: Even with all of the “Typed History” options unchecked, entries in the History section of the URL bar dropdown still get created and can only be deleted manually.
Bug: Clicking “Clear Browsing Data…” from Start Page / History on Window #2 opens the “Clear browsing data” UI on Window #1.
Bug: “Tools / Clear Private Data” still doesn’t remember selections.
On a positive note, I’m happy to report that the Updater worked just fine.
Kudos also for restoring the “disable” button in the Plugin UI that the Chrome folks took out in 56.0.2924.87!
Thanks very much for another great release and good luck with the Vivaldi 1.7 launch!

- Why is the cookie that remembers if I'm logged in a third-party cookie?
- Now I've logged in again with Vivaldi and turned off blocking third-party cookies in the setup menu. Now I'm reported as being logged in (which is good, given that I logged in in Opera 12.18), why can't I see the message I sent when I was logged in in Opera?
- Meanwhile, thanks to dLeon and dLeon - I shall endeavour to follow your various instructions!

Oops, that should of course be dLeon and iAN CooG.
(Why is it no longer possible to edit a message?) -

Probably because the comments are loaded from vivaldi.net (where the forums are), whereas the blog is located on vivaldi.com.

Panel: Random issues (?): Sometimes Favicons do not appear even if the page has an icon. Sometimes Favicons is set when the page is added, but later disappears. Sometimes you can reload the page to get the icon back, sometimes not ...
Been like this since the beginning of Panels ...Win7x64 Vx32

@dleon: Thanks very much for confirming the bugs.
Yes, I'm running OS X 10.11.6. To avoid annoying everyone, I deleted a bunch of macOS-specific UI bugs that would have made this obvious.
Edit: FYI, trying to Print a "blank zombie" tab is another thing that might produce a crash.
-
@tbgbe: Here some icons disappear when I restart, others appear again ... seems to be completely random....
-
Wow, thanks New SS in Saturday ?? Nice suprise
-
Hi there! Is it possible to have access to processes API? it's possible in Opera dev build and in Chrome Beta/Canary, but not in Vivaldi. Please... please
-
@Pesala for some reason it says so if you select the text and use rclick/go to but press again enter in the address and it appears.
-
Everytime I restart Vivaldi, web panel favicons are gone.
-
@LakeInHolland: You can edit your message from the forum side.
The "3rd party" cookie thing is because of the two different domains - .com and .net. Same session login, however,
-
@Telegram: The ability to customize themes and skins much more thoroughly will be provided. Right now, some rather huge basic features have focus.
-
@Ayespy Thanks for that Ayespy. Nevertheless, surely it means I have to change that setting when surfing the wild world web?

Yes but here in Oz it's Sunday morning, so that's even wower !!

@pafflick -- i read your earlier post about that, & thought "aha", so i then added that 2nd one to my 3rd party exceptions. However, i still cannot login. Sigh. [writing this in Forum not Blog].
-
@steffie: Have you included the subdomains as well? You need to add an entry like this:
[*.]vivaldi.net
. I've just posted this comment from the blog with the "Block 3rd party cookies" option turned on.BTW. (I'm editing this on the forums). I hate the lack of the preview box and that page reload on sending the comment, so I'll definitely stick to the forums only...
-
@pafflick -- oh? This is my current arrangement; not right?
-
No, you have to either include all subdomains (by replacing
https://
with the regular expression[*.]
) or add selected subdomains (in this case login.vivaldi.net and forum.vivaldi.net) manually. That should do the trick.
