Snapshot 1.0.270.16 - settings in a tab and improved progress indicator
-
Off the top of my head:
- The obvious one is to fix the thumbnails issue
- Performance improvements when moving tiles around and performing mouse gestures (interestingly the later has been improved slightly in this build)
- As large monitors are becoming the norm I believe 6 tile columns in not enough
- And consequently a non intrusive search button to aid in finding tiles would be nice (as found in Chropera)
That's all I can think of right now with the first two being extremely critical imo.
-
1. Typing one character to start renaming a speed dial in a folder, exits the folder. Cut and paste is a workaround, but its still a major bug. Reported as: VB-9096
2. Zoom in/out with Scrollwheel
3. Custom thumbnails
4. More columns (Opera has seven, which is enough for me, but what about users with Hi DPI monitors? -
So when is the REWIND button going to get fixed?
Without the REWIND button all the rest of the changes being made are meaningless. The only thing that used to make this browser worth considering was the REWIND button. Without it almost any other browser is better.
WHEN WILL THE MORON UNDEVELOPERS REALISE THIS AND FIX THE REWIND BUTTON?
-
Am I misremembering it, or was the panel bar previously light, under the Light theme? I'm getting a black stripe now.
-
The strange thing is that it gets worse and worse. I have 21 Speeddials and I nearly posted this morning that 13 of them were blank.
This evening, only 4 of them are showing - that's 17 of them are now blank.

Awesome work. Still mostly interested and following the RMB Scroll Wheel tab switching.
I'm not going to say that Opera 12's system was perfect, but it was better than every other system that came before or after. A lot better. Hugely. The big features I'm looking for here are Most Recently Used order, pop up of the tabs it's switching with the option to show only titles no thumbnails. If anyone can do this, I'm thinking it's you, so I hope you do.

"VB-7614 Add '*' as shortcut to reset zoom"
In addition to that not working, the on-screen "Reset" button next to the slider is no longer working for me. ⌘+ and ⌘- are not working either.

Well, some people answered your question. But as for me, I want the SD zoom to be independent from the UI (it's currently tied to the UI zoom), I want more rows, a better way to organize the Dials (like leaving blank spaces, rather than a removed space being occupied by the Dial directly next to it; while trying to put the dials where you want, this is a nightmare!), fix to the display of thumbnails and "mini-folders" (save folders to a set Dial, but when you click on it, instead of being taken to a whole new page of dials, it opens a small window or drop-down menu to reveal the Dials inside said folder - this would work wonders for folders where I save two or three sites).

Boy I'm GLAD I don't work with you, you just don't listen or learn do you. EVERYONE flagged you negative last WISE?#$% statement. Why should you care apparently you can't read either. That is my MAIN complaint about you, so figure you are a shill.
Suggestion and SIMPLE solution. If you can't stand them that much or the browser so much WHY don't you just go to the one you used BEFORE this came to development this Jan or so.
-
1. The ability to drag speed dials into folders.
2. The ability to drag speed dials out of folders. -
It's always been thus under the light scheme for me.

Win 7 64 bit, 8Gig, 32 Viv
So far ONLY problem I've found is memory hog…. I can't use it because it gets me down to 128K when FF looking at more open and current tabs running same leaves me 2,240 K free, so have to go back to FF before Viv crashes system.

Tabs are definitely getting speedier. Some more suggestions: when opening a link in a new tab (or in background tab), the new tab should appear beside the current active tab instead of going to the end of the bar. Also, opening links in a background tab should count towards the next tab in the cycle order when you use the "recently used order" setting. Currently they do not. For instance, if I have a few tabs open and on my current active tab I open several links in the background, when I close the current tab it does not go to the new tabs that I recently opened but instead it goes to the other tabs that were currently open before. I basically want to mimic the way Chrome determines recently used tab orders.

I actually like it a lot

Can this guy be banned altogether, it's not like he has any meaningful contribution to discussions?
-
Great! Looking forward to seeing it once it's a 747 Control Panel of Info.

Dude, consider your blood pressure, and chill. This isn't a finished product, much less a product that anyone has forked-over hard-earned-cash for. These aren't even the technical previews. These are mid-development snapshots for people who won't wig out over extra buginess, who want a chance to be involved in the process by calmly giving feedback or to just to get an extra-early taste of what's down the road. If you can't tolerate bugs, you would do yourself a favor to at the very least stick to the Technical Previews, or possibly even stick to another browser until the true public launch.
I've sometimes submitted a bug that I found annoying, and had to wait a few months for it to be resolved, but they generally have been – eventually. There's an enormous amount of work being done, and not every person's most-hated bug can get attention immediately. There are a lot of bugs and regressions to triage, and what is the most important feature to you is not the most important feature to everyone. (Assuming you're indeed the same person as represented by the about.com "Javascript Expert" profile and the website under with the username, name, and profile pic, it's a little puzzling, as I'd think you would have enough life experience to know all this already.)
In general, you'll find that throwing tantrums and insulting people whom you wish to help you will likely hinder more than help you in life, as many people will even go out of their way to avoid or delay attending to complaints that are delivered rudely, whether out of spite or as a calculated effort to discourage such behavior.
Perhaps you're just having a bad day or something?

Ah, misremembering it is, then.

Feels so much like my Opera days Ruari blog posts

Got a little nervous with the last update constantly hiding my Speed Dial on startup on Windows 10, but it seems to have gotten fixed this update. And gotta second the love for the dark theme as well!
