Snapshot 1.0.249.12 - Web Panels, Extension buttons UI, Progress bar info and tab performance improvements

same problem here. Fonts are totally washed out. Shouldn't the scaling via the preferences option avoid this problem?

On Extensions: Please do not make the firefox mistake and put everything into the core. Extensions are fine.
The old opera was just nice, but it had a lot of functionality, a browser needs. A recent firefox adds support for voip, pocket, and so on, what only a fraction of users actually need. But it may be vulnerable, like the pdf.js problem recently showed.
So having many things in extensions (espcially if they are cross-browser with chromium) is actually a good idea. Not sure, if chromium extensions are the best of all, as they are not so powerful like firefox' ones. Maybe vivaldi will extend the chromium extension-api a bit? For example moving around the extension buttons instead of just adding them at the right until you cannot see the url bar anymore ;). -
Per a comment well down this page, if you are running Vivald X64 (which is experimental) on the latest Win 10 64 system, you have to open it with the flag "–-no-sandbox" in order for it to open.
-
Another note:
on mouseover on a menuitem of the main menu, the shortcuts of all menuitems are underlined, and the underline disappears, when moving the mouse out, causing a irritating flicker.
I see there 2 Issues:- on hover, only the hovered item should get any highlighting
- The underlined character is usually underlined, so you can see the shortcut, WITHOUT moving the mouse first.

Regarding "VB-7705 [Mac] Zooming when clicking on ⌘ after scrolling with touch pad":
You didn't have to disable the ⌘+scroll zoom completely, to solve this. You could instead mute the scroll input just when scrolling already in progress is detected during the modifier key's keydown.
(Note that your current fix doesn't solve the rarer but similar case of tab-switching sometimes unexpectedly occurring when alt/option is pressed after a scroll motion.)
See this forum post for a clearer explanation of what I mean about muting the scroll input.

Just added some webpanels for sites I often use and I have to say it's great. Thanks for the new build!

1.0.233.3 works fine so I will just hope this issue gets cleared up in the next builds. I hope it's soon. Funny thing is charts from http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/energy/crude-oil/light-sweet-crude.html using the same technology work in this latest build.

You can fix the tabs bug by toggling UI, no need to restart. You can lookup the shortcut for this in settings/keyboard/view. Is probably ctrl F11 on Windows, it's cmd F11 on os x.
Thank you, that's a good workaround!

Same here, last time I opened Vivaldi the thumbnails were missing and can't be refreshed
-
Ah, yes, I remember now.
-
Fit to width seems to sort the problem in Opera 12.17 for me.
-
In a previous version I was missing pepperflash; if my memory is correct I went to the Adobe Flash Player download page in a non-chrome browser and clicked on 'Need Flash Player for a different computer?' You'll get the option for PPAPI and from there it was pretty simple and straightforward (must have been for me to do it).
-
"Please do not..put everything into the core. Extensions are fine." I could not disagree more vehemently. Extensions cause process bloat and resource drain, and often must be aggressively maintained by their authors to keep up with changes in the browser itself. They also complicate bug hunting because people report "bugs in the browser" that were actually caused by their extensions. Everything built into the core insofar as practicable is the best idea.
-
Thank you, that has solved it.
To clarify, I went to the Adobe Flash download site in IE9, Clicked 'Need Flash Player for a different computer?" chose Win 7/Vista/ XP and selected the version for "FP18 for Opera and Chromium – PPAPI" I then ran the file and it installed the FP18 in the location that Chrome used to use ie C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\ which is apparent;ly where Vivaldi looks for the plugin.
Restarting Vivaldi allowed it to pick up the correct DLL
Again, thank you. Award yourself a beverage of your choice.

Agreed. A bit of a nuisance, I'm having to check if I've already bookmarked a page.
-
I'm doing the same LOL.
-
BUG: I'm having problems with the LastPass window that opens when I click the extension button. Sometimes it's blank. When I can see the fields it will not accept a PW.

" The changes we have made also lay the groundwork for an further improvements in the future."
This build gives me hope that the atrocious performance of the speed dial page can be improved upon in future builds. I'm loving the new found speed of this build but the speed dial page finds a way to ruin everything
-
Web Panels, everything works better… Vivaldi Team must be Gods among Men.
-
There is no flicker first time I open Speed Dial. If I continue to open folders, there will be a flicker every time. If I open a bookmark (URL) and then go back to the Speed Dial there is no flicker. If I then open other folders, I get flicker again.
I looks like the thumbs are cleared and then repainted.Yeah. Folder after folder, still no flicker. I am beginning to believe it must be specific to certain systems.
