Snapshot 1.0.249.12 - Web Panels, Extension buttons UI, Progress bar info and tab performance improvements
-
In Vivaldi, there has never been an option to not remember passwords.
-
Awesome - one of the most welcome updates ever.
A great german- english dictionary for the sidebar: http://dict.tu-chemnitz.de/?mini=1 used it in Opera for ages…
Good to finally have buttons for extensions!
One thing: the dark theme needs better contrast. I can hardly see the page progress numbers in the address bar and when clicking on the "bookmark" symbol on the left of the address bar, the entries in the dropdown for where the bookmark should go are completely unreadable, you have to mouse-over each one to read them.
I totally love the dark theme (not using page colours here) but hope that the contrasts can be improved in future updates!Thank you so much!
Cheers
Tom

Seems a universal problem that Bookmarks in bookmarks bar always open in new tab. Perhaps the blog post should be amended to add this as a known issue.
-
just wondering, is it possible to find the download speed of downloads
-
Great to have extension icons. I'm one of those left tab bar people that had 160 tabs open back in Opera 12. Thanks for the known issues note. I thought it's my computer.
This one's been happening for a while:
bug: browsing history (when holding down the back button) sometimes all get replaced by the current page. Happened after upgrading to this snapshot. Not sure if it's browser init or upgrade or something else. It didn't happen when I tried to close and reopen the browser to test it. -
You can fix the extensions getting disabled on each vivaldi start by uninstalling and re-installing the extensions once - drove me nuts for a while but after doing it once it's stable now for me since.
-
Yeah, the dark theme definitely needs more contrast (I use it with page colours disabled). Several areas are completely unreadable.
-
When I click a bookmark link from the bookmark bar it opens in a new TAB not in the same TAB.
Is there a fix for this? -
The same problem here. No flash player, so cannot play videos on BBC. Downloading and installing Flash again didn't make any difference. Only one plugin shows up in the plugins page — for the Chromium PDF viewer.

The sluggish Speed Dial animations seem to have been disabled… This is GOOD !
-
Add an option to hide specific extension icons. Hope the bug's will be fixed very soon. The look's great anyway
-
click the + button again, this should hide the dialoge.
-
This would make a really good feature… a Download Speed Indicator next to that 2 other useful indicators...
-
The same happens when you push the Home button. Opens a new tab with the homepage and leaves the other tab in the background.
-
Looks like, no. This kind of thing I would expect to see remedied in the very next snapshot.
-
Yes. Nice but just needs a bit more tweaking.

Win 7 64, Viv 32, 8 gig
Don't remember all, I ran into but big one for me Flash when it downloaded whole program did NOT just update it broke my Flash streaming. Looked for plug in did NOT find it on about:plugin
Two different streaming sites I listen to a LOT didn't work.
I went to flash, re-installed it, and also rebooted, STILL don't have flash. When I first went to flash it said it was already installed even though it didn't show.
Don't flame me if this was mentioned already tried reading all posts but didn't see anybody else having that problem.
There was another I ran into but for now don't remember, later.
-
Actually I start to like this thing
-
But now there is a flicker approx. 1 sec. after the dial has been loaded.
