Snapshot 1.0.196.2 Spatial navigation improvement, Mac build fixes, Windows 64bits get auto-update
-
Hi everyone,
Most of the Vivaldi team, which is located mainly in Norway and Iceland, have travelled to Magnolia, MA last week to code together during the month of June. Magnolia is a beautiful little New England town by the ocean, 45 min north of Boston.
While we are all here staying and coding together, we are hoping to make some good progress toward our first Beta. But of course, over the weekend we also had some fun by doing some paddling, cycling, swimming etc!
-
We need pictures of the paddling etc…
-
I find the speed and bouncing effect on the spatial navigation very annoying.
I used it quite a lot in Opera 12-. But so far, never in Vivaldi.
Part of the reason is also how buggy it has been so far. -
VB-6015 - “Page actions” translation is missing
when reporting I meant it like let us translate all these actions (actions/filters names) as well but at least we got the title translated
-
Yeah. That would be great. I would like to see the people behind the coding…
-
VB-6005 - Change interval of UI Zoom slider to 5% instead of 10%
Hmm, looks like step still is 10% for me.
-
On spatnav I would say that:
try (on this page) focus "Tweets" section using the spatnav. I was trying it now for like a minute or more with no success.
W8.1 x64 with this x32 build -
it's UI Zoom slider, not the "page" zoom slider at least here it works as intended (5% with UI and 10% when speaking about the page's zoom slider)
w8.1 x64 with this x32 buildOr maybe a specific bug related to a system? (are you using Mac/Linux?)
-
Indeed. It's most likely because it's an iframe, making it harder to do.
The way they are currently doing the spatial navigation is very extension-like.It's even making changes in DOM, which I don't like.
-
10 % for me here, too. Win10x86
-
If your current zoom is small, the slider will skip past the 5% increments. Zoom to something larger; then 5% increments are possible.
-
I though so too. But after some time, I suddenly hit 95%. It's quite hard to get to it.
Win 8.1 -

Exactly.
-
Works for me only in 10% steps - even when I am at 200%
-
Thanks for VB-6005/VB-5133/VB-3396/VB-2055/VB-6065
Testing now.
EDIT: VB-6005 still slides in 10% intervals though. Mac here.
I'm hoping for the next snapshot you can fix some website specific bugs like commenting on YouTube and/or crashing with Disqus after saving password. But of course you should work on your own pace. ^^ Nice work! -
Oh, I have Win10 too. x64.
-
Actually 1% step would be better than 5%.

"While we are all here staying and coding together, we are hoping to make some good progress toward our first Beta."
I hope you guys are going to focus on performance as you're heading towards beta. Because a lot of new people will be trying Vivaldi for the first time when it goes beta. Also, first impression matters!
-
After last update I have spaces from [Vivaldi button] option in tabs row with [Horizontal menu] option.
-
I hope that you get that beta means "buggy but feature complete". Not buggy is Final, not beta!
(even thought I was told that they might "break the rule" and add some new features even after beta state without doing 2nd beta)
