slow video playback

  • On for example http://www.cnbc.com/top-video/ video is played at slow speed.
The ad preceding the video is played normally.
this is both on snapshot and stable.

Adobe Flash Player - Version: 24.0.0.194
    Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0

  • Mmh works fine for me - videos are playing in normal speed.

But I don't have flashplayer installed - so you might check how it works for you when you turn off flashplayer

    1.7.735.29 32bit | win7 64bit

  • @zaibon
Thanks, but with flash disabled the problem persists.

  • @esmeral I tried the "Top Video" on both US and INTL pages, both played (for me) with no problems.

Note: I don't see any ad before the video (I guess uBlock extension is stopping that).

Is your problem ONLY with CNBC videos?
Just wondering if playing with hw acceleration settings would help.
Might be worth having a look at vivaldi://gpu to see if there are any red flags in the first area ( Graphics Feature Status ).

    Seems to be, yes.

I looked at it,this is above my skill level, i will just open firefox if i need to view CNBC video.

  • I can replicate this, voice is played slowed at half speed.

  • @TbGbe I can't verify, nothing on that iheartradio works for me in Vivaldi, at least I don't know if it works outside USA. But I have no problem on any other video or audio site in Vivaldi, whatsoever.

  • @iAN-CooG Oh. I'm not in US either, but as you could also had this problem I thought you might be.
Still the problem description sounds the same.

    Have you checked vivaldi://gpu
If everything looks OK then you could write a bug report (as OP has given up).

  • Canvas: Hardware accelerated
    Flash: Hardware accelerated
    Flash Stage3D: Hardware accelerated
Flash Stage3D Baseline profile: Hardware accelerated
    Compositing: Hardware accelerated
    Multiple Raster Threads: Enabled
Native GpuMemoryBuffers: Software only. Hardware acceleration disabled
Rasterization: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable
    Video Decode: Hardware accelerated
    Video Encode: Hardware accelerated
VPx Video Decode: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable
    WebGL: Hardware accelerated
    WebGL2: Hardware accelerated

Doesn't matter if I set Video Decode SW only or HW accelerated, audio on that site plays in slowmotion, video speed is normal. And generally everything works even better for me with SW only, Youtube especially.

That is the only difference to my settings (using Nvidia Gpu)
mine is Video Decode : Software Only

Maybe there is strange detection in the site script(s) ??

You should create a bug report and give as much info as possible (reply to the Bug number email with as much info as possible).
