[Option Request] Tabs Tight Against Edge of Screen
-
I forget what it is called when tabs sit right tight against the top of the screen so that sliding the mouse pointer along the top of the screen activates them as it moves along the edge of the screen. But I want the option to be able to activate tabs while sliding the mouse pointer along the top of the screen without having to move the mouse pointer down a few pixels before I am able to click a tab. Personally it is much easier for me that way since I have a disability that makes mousing less simple than for the average person but I think it could be easier for anyone. FF and Chrome do it this way by default. I'm requesting this as a setting/option so people can choose. Thank you for considering.

In common.css I set the following:
#tabs-container.top{padding-top:0px}
Now tabs are tight to the top of the screen and I am very happy.

I found the css file, but probably edited the wrong value, so it doesn't work.
This should definitely be in the Settings dialogue — and no padding should be the default. No many users will be happy to edit CSS style sheets to fix something like this.
I apparently edited the setting for Linux, not the one for Windows. Now it's working OK.

Definitely. Maybe that will be forthcoming.
Good to see you here Pesala.

Maybe they add it to options, I hope so cause I prefer no padding too.

Every time there's a new update I have to find this thread to remember how to fix this.
Note to self: Copy #tabs-container.top{padding-top: to my notes.

Nice! I had been saving the code snippet in a text document but keeping it in V is what the Notes panel is for. Duh. Even worse considering I am using notes for other storage already.
Cheers.

I prefer to keep stuff in a Notepad file, because reinstalling might clear any notes.
I have a file named ToDo.txt with important data of all sorts — logins,, appointments, etc. It's saved on an encrypted drive and in an encrypted archive for backup purposes. I even use it as a scratch pad for long forum posts to avoid losing them. I just don't save the text file after submitting the post.
In Opera 12.17 I have a mnemonic shortcut "t,d" that launches the text file in its associated program, which is Notepad2.exe.
Mnemonic shortcuts are my current most important feature request for Vivaldi. They are a huge aid to productivity. I have custom buttons too, but the shortcuts are what I use most often.
FTP = Launch FTP Commander
86 = Find my local bus arrival times on Transport for London
APNG = Launch APNG assembler
TD = Open my ToDo list in Notepad2
FC7 = Launch FontCreator 7.5
FC8 = Launch FontCreator 8 etc.Shortcuts are not case-sensitive
I do sometimes open the Windows Start menu to launch my favourite programs, but not very often. -
