Tabs in address bar / single row UI
-
Moving here as asked by a moderator.
Hello everyone, I'm new to Vivaldi and trying to learn how everything works.
I have been stuck on Firefox for so long because it was the only browser where I could set the interface on a single row, having address bar, controls and tabs on the same line instead of title.
Would it be possible to achieve the same result with Vivaldi? Thanks, and best regards.
here you can see a screenshot of what I mean: http://i.imgur.com/AuVjSJZ.png
[EDIT: Found another request similar to this (One line UI). but it does not work on windows.]

Thanks everyone for the replies.
Two threads with the same question because a moderator TOLD me to do so.
The feature request linked by dLeon is similar to what I would need. Voted for it, thanks for linking it to me..
Aesouza: The other UI mod I mentioned is actually... from you. https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/13042/one-line-ui-help-wanted , which is overlapping everything in the bar for me, not working properly: http://imgur.com/7rUTju5.png
the window controls don't work if I resize the window, the < button overlaps the V button, extensions icons overlap window controls, the search bar overlaps the tabs, if I disable search bar, the address bar overlaps the first 40 pixels of the tabs.. as someone else also stated in that thread for mac.
Also I had already posted this thread when I found that one, so I added the edit to state that. I can't delete my posts in here.As for the related one, it's incredibly tiny and lacking ANY button. there's not even the X to close the window. It's neat for minimalistic use, but not a replacement for a full time browser.
Thanks again.

I understand it's your own solution and it works for you That's why I had not linked it directly to begin with.
I tried using it as a base to modify it for my own needs, but I'm not well versed in CSS, while understanding how it works, I don't know the proper controls. some of the stuff I managed to fix, in a hardcoded way.I'd like to figure out how to make it dynamic, resizing the address bar based on how many tabs I have open and how many extension icons are displayed.. Maybe it's time for me to look up a CSS For Dummies book

@therian It's good...
Also don't forget there are 10 ways to skin a lizard.Try Tabs on the left (vertical)
Try Ctrl F11 to just hide the whole shebang until you need it.
Try putting Ctrl F11 to a mouse gesture (not sure if it works in Vivaldi - I use external gestures). With Widescreen, it pays to get used to using the width a bit better. Any time I start noticing the address/tabs space at the top I do a mouse squiggle and I have, essentially, the same visual appearance as an 'app tab' in Chromium.
Tidy. -
If you want code to be a little more universal for different displays and/or window sizes, don't use an absolute px size. Instead you can try using a percentage
For example
width: 10% !important
in place of
width: 100px !important
