Icon customization possible?

  • I have my desktop and browser customized in dark/desaturated/grey colors because of a neurological condition that makes bright lights and colors painful. It is unfortunate the toolbar is not affected by the filters Vivaldi provides.

    Is there a way to change the extension icons on the toolbar to a greyscale? I realize I can hide them but I use them a lot and so a color change would be more useful. Thanks.

  • Yes it can be done with custom css file, read this.

    button.button-toolbar.browserAction-button {
        filter: grayscale(100%);
    }

    if you want favicons too then span.favicon { filter: grayscale(100%); }

    @greenenemy
    I like this.
    All these years. Why, I never think of that? :angry:
    I'm getting old I guess. The rainbow colors start give me a headache.

    If you don't mind my asking, have you documented how you've customized your desktop and browser? It would be of great help to others in a similar situation but who don't know how to go about doing what you've done. TIA!
