Minor trouble after upgrading from Vivaldi 1.4.589.41 to 1.6.689.46
-
Hello,
I upgraded a PC from ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04 by restoring entirely the OS and data. I installed the new Vivaldi version (1.6.689.46), started it, and then stopped it.
After i replaced the folder ~/.config/vivaldi/default by the one of the old version.
It seems to work fine, i've retrieved all my settings, bookmarks, opened tabs... BUT :1. The trouble :
****Either with the new or old default folder, the webmail view is a little bit different : the subject texts are all in a white background whereas in the preceeding version subject texts of non-read messages were with a green background, which is more readable.
I add that when a little window is moved above the subject column, a pale green shadow (about 8mm large) appears along the sides in contact with the subject column !2. The question
Are there other hidden problems after changing the default folder as i did ?Thanks for your help,
Michel

Was this with Vivaldi.net web mail or Gmail or something else? It's hard to guess what's wrong without the details.

I'm speaking about vivaldi's webmail of course !

Unfortunately I can't access the Vivaldi web mail. I've never been able to, it just doesn't accept my password and I have no idea why.

Might help if you say which interface you use:
https://webmail.vivaldi.net/But actually, both appear with a white background for me (I don't have any unread mails at the moment).
Did you perhaps change from the default skin for the mail interface?

Can you clarify what you mean by "a little window" - I see no change if moving another app window across the browser window.

I got the Vivaldi web mail working by changing my password to ASCII characters only.

The pale green colour becomes white and shows only when it's darkened a bit (in the drop shadow of an overlaying window).

Hard to say, but profiles are sometimes vulnerable to corruption, so backups are a good idea when doing that sort of upgrading.
