I installed 1.7.715.3 (Official Build) (32-bit) last night and really like it. I have been using Chrome for a long time. I am a bookmark maniac and try to organize them so I can easily find things. I naturally really like the ability to search my bookmarks. I hung the browser a few times while I was copying bookmarks to my bar. But that's not a big problem right now.
I can't open mail in yahoo mail. I can start it and see my inbox, but I get a blank screen every time I open a mail item. I am using the basic version now and it works. But I like the latest version much better. I have this exact same problem in Chrome and it started a few months ago. I am running Windows 10 Home version 1607 build 14393.576. So I have been using Firefox because it doesn't have this problem.
If I remove the lastpass extension it works fine. But I love lastpass and won't give it up. I have been looking at the console in the developer window and I see this message - Failed to load resource: net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT. I don't see any option in lastpass to fix this. I also haven't been able to find anything about this on the web.
Does anyone have this problem or have any idea how to fix it? I'm still going to use Vivaldi and just use Firefox for yahoo mail in the mean time.
Thanks,
Bob -

I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I'm sorry for the delay but I didn't have "watching" turned on. I disagree that using a local email app is more secure than web based email. This is a work-around, not a fix. My current work-around is using firefox to read my email. Also the basic version of the web client works with Vivaldi. I'm still trying to decide which of those I like better. I've been using the web client for years with no security problems and there are too many pluses to give it up. I also plan to email the problem to lastpass, but I'm not sure they will help as I am using the free version. I do however, appreciate your response.
Thanks,

I have two possible suggestions, although i suspect you'll not find them appealing. #1 might not even solve the fault [suck it & see].

Install this extension, then set it up so that when you visit the Yahoo page it uses the FF not V profile... User-Agent Switcher for Chrome.

Ditch LastPass for KeePass2.

What timing! I just fired up yahoo mail under Vivaldi and it is working now. I got updated today to Windows 10 build 14393.693. I like windows 10, but it is a challenge at times. I also have a partition with the windows 10 insider edition and that is even more of a challenge.
Thanks again,

@Steffie
I will check out User-Agent Switcher for Chrome to see what it does. It might come in handy for something. I will also try KeePass2. I have been using lastpass for a while but it has some quirks and issues. I remember Martin Brinkmann of gHacks.net liking KeePass2. If you don't already get his news letter, you should. He turned me on to Vivaldi.
Thanks,

@netgork -- Hi Bob. Brinkmann is good, & i used to occasionally read his good articles at his site. However a few years ago i chose to dump Windows & move fully to Linux, hence [mostly] he's not relevant to me anymore [unless i'm wrong? maybe he does also write about Linux, but i thought his main gig was MS Win]. Indeed, if you used Linux not Windows, i'd have pointed you to KeePassX rather than KP2 [but rest assured, in my experience at least, KP2 worked most happily in Win].

Steffie,
I'm not sure what I am doing wrong but I expect to see something in vivaldi when I get a new message. When I come to the community I see the message in the bell. Do I always have to have a tab open for the community? That's not a bad idea though. So I am sorry I didn't respond quicker. The gHacks newsletter might be more about windows. I never thought about it. But his site has linux and android stuff.

I'm retired, but was a unix admin for 7 years. I prefer windows on my pc, even though it's a pain in the ass, but have a partition for Ubuntu. I also use ubuntu when I play with my raspberry pi. I like to collect free computer eBooks and there is usually a link for one in each newsletter. I will check out KeePass but haven't got to it yet. Even though I'm retired, I have more things on my list than I have time for. I was just trying to give you some info in return because you were trying to help me. My last return info is to check out Revolution Radio. http://FreedomSlips.com
I spend a lot of time there on the round tables and am thinking about doing a computer geek show. -
@netgork -- thanks for your reply & info + links. Happy retirement [i also am, btw].

I still didn't get a notification when you posted even though I am watching this thread. If the notifications are supposed to go to my windows notifications then I might have to give vivaldi permission. I'll check it out and open a new thread if that's not it. I wonder if von Tetzchner's old buddy is trying to one-up him.

These forums don't support web notifications (the ones built into modern browsers). Furthermore, Vivaldi doesn't support Windows notifications (at least it doesn't use them for the web notifications). The only place you can check for notifications about new reply in a thread you're watching is the bell icon in the upper right corner of the page and the Notifications Page. I know I mentioned "notifications" too many times probably, but we're talking about three different types of them here - I hope that didn't confuse you...
I'm not sure about the e-mail notifications (that'll be a fourth type of them! ) because I don't use them. You can find them on the settings page (click on your avatar in the upper right corner and click on "Settings").

Thanks for your reply. I was expecting to see something in the browser frame like the bell. I prefer that to the windows notifications which are annoying as hell. Now that I know, I keep a tab open with the forum. But I don't think I should have to do that. -
