Vivaldi freezes on Debian sid amd64 (glibc issue?)

  • Hi,

Vivaldi is freezing reproducibly on Debian sid as of today. Both 1.6 and the latest dev snapshot tested.
It still starts up but freezes a few seconds after the first interaction with the browser.

I suspect it might have something to do with the latest glibc update in sid because it used to work yesterday when I had not yet updated to glibc 2.24-8.

A strace output could be provided on request.

    Can anybody duplicate this behaviour?

    THX,

    Sim

  • @NamelessCat
Also Debian sid amd64. Vivaldi 1.6 stable.

I've got no problem here. Is it just freeze or when you do something?
Did you tried Vivaldi clean profile?

  • Hmmm... seems to be Debian's fault - since the last update, Kodi freezes, too. Both used to work before the last round of aptitude upgrade.

Time to dissect the changes in updated packages. :-(

Vivaldi stable freezes on a fresh profile right after clicking on the first "welcome tour" button, Kodi freezes after drawing its main menu.

strace has a lot of failed epool syscalls, don't know enough about the internals be make much use of the syscalls, sadly.

    Weird.

  • This is a backtrace, any gurus on the forums?
