Vivaldi constantly flickering and flashing when loading pages
I'm having a very annoying issue with vivaldi on my macbook. Every time I load a new page the browser constantly flickers and flashes in random areas of the screen. It even happens sometimes when I'm just scrolling down a page. I have the most current version of vivaldi and it still keeps happening. I don't have this issue on my desktop mac. Any advice on how to fix this would be great thank you! in advance!
Just upgraded my Vivaldi version this morning and having exactly the same problem.
What was the previous version you had? I'd like to just download that version to get rid of this
I have the same problem.
I think, it is not only a Vivaldi problem, it works the same with Opera, Chrome (Blink engine) browsers.
I use middle mouse to close pages.
Win10x64, 8GB Memory, Nvidia 1060x6GB Video card. I think, it is sufficient hardware to run a browser flawlessly.
@vlevi70 This might be caused by a video acceleration glitch (specific to your hardware) in the underlying Chromium code. An easy way to verify this is to temporarily turn off hardware acceleration by going to:
Uncheck the "Use hardware acceleration when available" option and restart your browser. Hopefully this will make the browser usable again on your system until the underlying problem can get fixed.
@xyzzy Does not help
I must stop using Vivaldi, because this problem is so annonying for me.
The other, bigger problem is the Directwrite problem. Text is blurry, it is hard to read the webpages after a long time
Look for the two screenshots.
One of them Vivaldi, the other is Firefox. Not a big difference, but enough to hurt my eyes.
