      Minerblocker.
Some (ok, really bad) sites started to bundle their site with js cryptominers which use a lot of CPU cycles (they'll use yours) to monetize. Since its installation, it blocked already three five miners.

UblockOrigin users: They started to block miners, so this extension is not currently essential.

I saw that someone had mentioned "SimpleExtManager", which is an extension manager. However, it is not a very good one.
The best extensions manager by far, is: NooBoss

      Amazon Infinite Scroll

In the same spirit as the Never-Ending Reddit function performed by Reddit Enhancement Suite, this allows you to deep dive into Amazon search results without pagination, a blessing of inestimable value considering they don't allow you to manage the number of results shown per page. Easily toggled on and off by a button which appears in the address bar when you're on an Amazon URL.

      Authy

A desktop access point to all of the 2FA codes typically locked away inside one's mobile devices. Requires an associated Chrome App which also seems perfectly content running inside the Vivaldi sandbox.

Stylus is a fork of Stylish that is based on the source code of version 1.5.2, which was the most up-to-date version before the original developer stopped working on the project.

      crxMouse Chrome™ Gestures

Vivaldi's native Mouse gestures are fine, for what they can do.

I use this ext. for its awesome Super Drag feature. Highly customizable.

This along with V tab tiling makes twitter usable, at least for my particular needs.

      User JavaScript and CSS

I'm totally new to coding, but sometimes I need to modify poorly designed pages that I use often. When uBlock Origin's Element picker is not sufficient but I need to modify scripts or css, this extension works really well. Even a civilian not-very-techie and disinterested in coding like me might manage with this.

      ScriptSafe

Kind of hard to believe noone has mentioned this yet.
Powerful script blocker. I guess uMatrix is similar, but I've gotten used to this. Together with uBlock Origin gives great protection from tracking and worse.

@dleon Thank you, this is pretty great. Best downloader for video I've found, even works well on youtube after a few initial difficulties.

@carrep After seeing some reports of this ext. tracking users and possibly selling all their data to third parties I did some research. There is now an option to disable sending 'anonymous user data' that was not there some time ago. Even with this option at disable it seems they send data to google analytics, for what use I don't know.

I found this smartUp Gestures extension which has the same great features as crxMouse and is equally customizable. Does not seem to send or track any user data.

There are a lot of great extensions out there, but the security aspect of using them is pretty scary. Even though google issued new stricter guidelines to ext developers last year, strict is still very relative. Most extensions have wide permissions as default, and if devs want to track you or worse it seems pretty easy to work around googles restrictions.

Although Vivaldi includes a function to invert and modify the colors of a page, it does not save the preferences.
There are some extensions that do, but simply invert the colors, such as Dark Reader.
But there is an extension that not only automatically discovers if the page requires to be modified or not, according to the preferences, it does not simply invert the colors, but modifies them according to the individual preferences.

      Group Your Tabs

Maybe unnecessary for Vivaldi but useful in case you have to use other Chromium browsers.
