          Bitwarden

Lastpass was great but made folks choose between desktop-only or mobile-only. Bitwarden is just as good to me and is open source, IIRC.

@catweazle Thanks, but unless I'm late to the game, KeePass doesn't have a version for Android. (Or doesn't directly have an app for Android, maybe? Might be another vendor's app that provides a way in?)

And I apologize, @Gaëlle for discussing rather than voting! 🙂

@durhammer Gaelle is no longer with Vivaldi (took an impossible-to-pass-up job offer in keeping with her degree and her life purpose). That said, I'm not aware of any plan to tabulate the totals in this topic. It's five years old and some of these "extension" functions have already been incorporated in Vivaldi.

@catweazle If you are in need of a KeePass solution I recommend checking out KeePassXC for windows
https://keepassxc.org/ It also has its own official addon for all major browser.

For android I use KeePassDX https://www.keepassdx.com/
                      ...

I really like how the KeePassXC works on desktop. One main installation that works with your browsers via KeePass own's plugin which you get directly from each browser own addons store.

My needs for a password manager on android is drastically different than that of my needs of a password manager on Desktop thus I can't tell you how good KeePassDX is auto-filling credential, etc. All I can tell you is that the software is solid, based on KeePass and it features all the options one would expect from a solid, secure mobile password manager.

*Both of these these opensource projects are in active development

@durhammer Keepass2Android is the preferred android app. Being open source, there are probably at least a dozen programs on various platforms that read Keepass data. Keepass2Android is excellent and will sync with the keepass data file.

@durhammer Bitwarden is great. It is what I recommend for people who need to sync between devices particular apple stuff. It's much better than Keepass for that. It is weaker for working with local programs. I need to login to a number of local programs, not browser, not internet. Keepass is better for that. For linux, I recommend keepassxc as has already been mentioned.

A separate note about extensions, whoever uses the Forum Mod should know that Dark Reader, if he uses it too, must then whitlist the forum, since Dark Reader is not compatible with the Forum Mod, causing strange flaws in the forum layout.

Bitwarden. It's open source and free or pro version for $10.00/year. I did use Lastpass, but it was going up every year. To me Bitwarden is as good as any and help doesn't usually take too long

                                          uBlock Origin

Many are probably familiar with this extension.
I became aware of it when I started trying out CCleaner Browser.
Vivaldi was better, except when it came to Tracker and Ad Blocking.
When I found out the source of CCleaner Browser's blocking was uBlock Origin, I installed it for Vivaldi.
It is much more effective than EasyList.

@AllanH , regarding ad and tracker blocking, the Vivaldi blocker can be just as efficient as uBO, depending on the filters you add, uBO is only more advantageous because of the added functions and inclusion in the context menu, which the Vivaldi blocker (yet) does not have .
