What the heck?

  • Updated to 1.5.xxx and I found nothing but trouble.
Reverted back to v1.4.589.xxx and now Vivaldi won't remember "any" passwords.
I'm the only one with access to this laptop. So saving passwords is no big deal,
except for now(?). I have over three dozen unique passwords and getting out
my loose leaf notebook each time is a pita.

    Please fix this!

And the color of the GUI does not match the website colors in v1.5

BTW, how did Vivaldi break their own browser?

  • Reverting back to 1.4 will break your login database.
In every major change of chromium base-code and version number the logins database changes.

You should have backed up and/or exported your old password database.

    Exporting a working login database:

    1. Open vivaldi://flags#password-import-export
    2. Switch to Enable
    3. Restart Vivaldi
    4. Open chrome://settings/passwords
    5. Hit the Export button
    6. Enter Windows account passwort to unlock database
    7. Save created CSV file

Be careful, everyone can read you exported passwords file now.

You can import this CSV file with the passwords into your new installation (as i remember, not tested):

    1. Open chrome://settings/passwords
    2. Hit the Import button
    3. Select file to import
    4. Enter Windows account passwort to unlock database

  • All of my passwords were lost "after/during" the update. Not after rolling back.

  • Okay, I re-updated to snapshot v1.5 now my passwords are all where they are supposed to be...saved.
The GUI color on my homepage (news.google.com) is now gray while in v1.2 v1.3 v1.4 it was red.
At least my passwords are back.

    Nice to hear :)

The page's icon of Google news is gray, so the tab bar color will be gray.

  • @Gwen-Dragon Thanks. I did not know that.
