Make page load in same tab

  • I can't seem to figure out how to make a new page load in the same tab.
It always loads in a new tab even though I have unchecked 'open page in a new tab' under 'quick commands' in the settings.

That only affects "Quick Commands" search etc.
What do you mean by "new page in same tab"?
If you want start page then you could use the Home button. (set to vivaldi://startpage ).

  • What I mean is: When I have just one tab and I click on a link on that page, I want it to replace that page; not open in another tab.

OK that works with left-click IF the page has not coded the link to go to new page - you can test this by clicking the MAIL link in the header of this page.

However, there is no way (at the moment) to get Vivaldi to ignore the "new page" coding when it is present.

  • Ok, I see what you mean. I was just used to Firefox overriding the code on the page.
