[BUG] Search does not scan the page when cycling tabs
-
In Chrome, Opera 12 or Firefox I can type input/query only once in serach box and then use F3 hotkey to initiate search while cycling between tabs OR within the webpage's page navigation.
Unfortunately, on Vivialdi in order for search to work I have to retype input EVERY DAMN TIME because for some reason it just completely fails to see existing match if I use hotkey. May be it oes not remember the search input, may be it resets after any other action I don't know but it just TERRIBLE.

It works for me in 1.5, I have 2 tabs open, f3 on this, search "bug", f3 cycles trhu all finding occurrences, ctrl-tab on the other, f3 cycles from 1st occurrence there too.
Else I don't understand what you mean. -
@iAN-CooG It was broken in 1.4, I had the same issue. It seems to work now, but 1.5 (stable) has been out for only a couple of hours, so we need more time to confirm whether this really works as intended...
-
It's been ALMOST A YEAR since it was reported and it STILL HAPPENS to me in latest snapshot.
...
Jesus Christ. Literally hopeless
-
Surprise! It still happens on 1.7.xx
-
@Kein It works for me, as long as the page is fully loaded.
Bug fixing must be prioritised according to several factors:
- Is it reproducible?
- Does it affect many users?
- Is the bug a major loss of function, a minor irritation, or a trivial cosmetic issue?
- Is it easy to fix?
I could list a few bugs that go back to the first Technical Preview or soon afterwards, that are still not fixed.

Vivaldi 1.7 and still the same dumb issue.
I haven't seen a SINGLE BROWSER having this issue, even the oldest Internet Bugsplorer.

I haven't seen a single browser having this issue.Me neither. Not even the current version of Vivaldi.

What extensions do you have installed?
-
@Kein Just one for APNG
-
Also works for me.
Only extension ublock origin.
Vivaldi 1.7 on Linux. -

Can you try to install Ublock origin and try this:
https://hardforum.com/forums/displays.78/
Search for "dell" on page 1, then start to swap the pages, 1,2,3,4,5,6 while pressing F3 as you would normally to do sort through. Evetually, after the page with 0 actual results you swap to the page where you SHOULD get the match you receive 0/0 matches (even though word "dell" is on the page) and no text highlight.I'm reproducing this issue easily:

https://imgur.com/a/dhMofYes it appears to be a bug.
Page 3 shows "0" results.
Returning to page 1, continues to show "0" results as do other pages.
Although nothing is being highlighted, it is scrolling to "dell" in the page when you press F3.
ublock origin doesn't appear to have anything to do with it.See the same in chromium (versions 55 and 56) and Opera.
