Opening links from external applications with multiple Vivaldi windows weirdness
-
Hi all, Me and my friends have been enjoying Vivaldi so first of all I'd like to congratulate the developers for their hard work :). We have spotted a weird issue since the first versions that hasn't been fixed so I'd like to present it in this post. Like the topic says, if you have more than one Vivaldi window open and you open links from other applications (email clients, consoles, etc etc) one would expect for the link to open in the last topped Vivaldi window. For example if I have Vivaldi windows a, b and c open and I had b topped, then switched to my email client and clicked on a link I would expect the link to open in window b. Instead, sometimes it opens in window b, but sometimes it opens in a random window. I'm not able to systematically reproduce the issue but it seems to vary depending on the application that launches the link. Anyway, that's about it. Anyone noticed this? Or is it a known issue? Regards, George

I'm experiencing the same behaviour.
As I keep lots of browser windows open I often end up having to search for the newly opened tab. Another linked issue is that Vivaldi tries to open a window for you, seeming to just guessing where it is. ^^ However, it's never the correct window!

This is known. It's issue VB22002, if you want to watch the blog for when it gets addressed.
