Vivaldi's auto-complete feature should suggest the website's name as the first suggestion
-
Vivaldi's auto-complete feature is tedious and needs a change. It should suggest the website name itself as the first suggestion. Steps to reproduce: Let's say that I want to visit Amazon.com so I start typing that. Vivaldi auto-completes the URL with amazon.com/?q=some/very/very/long/URL/here So if I just want to visit the home page (as for most websites) then I need to do either of the following: Current behavior: [ul] [li]Type the full website name uptil .com and then press "delete" to remove all that extra part[/li] [li]OR, use the mouse and click just after .com and delete everything afterwards[/li] [li]OR, scroll down among all the suggestions. Sometimes it shows just the website name and I can hit enter on it [/li] [li]OR, open the full URL and then click on the website logo to finally reach the home page [/li] [/ul] Instead we can have it the following way: Suggested improvement: When typing "amaz..." the very first suggestion should always be "www.amazon.com". The next few suggestions can be the lengthier ones. Attachments:

As developers don't hurry to fix it here is my solution: https://vivaldi.net/en-US/forum/all/8453-bundle-js-modding

Also the matter is being taken in account as we speak. I hope in an happy end and for a "definitive" fix included on the next snapshot (or the following one)

+1 from me.
The current behaviour of Vivaldi is very annoying. -

Great to hear. One of my biggest annoyances with Vivaldi.

Then delete that link from your history if it hurts your feelings, I do this and won't happen again.
New snapshot behaviour on autocomplete is nice for me, -

Now two snapshots has been released, and the autocomplete is even worse, it suggests completely outdated links from history I've used a couple of times instead of the links I visit 10000 times more often…
Yeah. Still not fully fixed. Anyway, if you can't wait just use the den_po solution linked few messages earlier.
