Vivaldi not displaying name of the tab.

Vivaldi is not displaying name of the tab - and it makes browsing difficult. It worked only in one snapshot and now is permanently broken. I can't see the full name of the tab or miniature. When I move to other tab I can see the miniature but still can't see full name of the tab. Only when I stack the tab with other tab I can see full name of the tab. (Note the still not resolved problems with thumbnail rendering.)

• Check the following settings:

Tools /Settings/Appearance (Show Status Info Overlay)

Tools/Settings/Tabs (Show Popup Thumbnails)

@TbGbe:

Tools /Settings/Appearance (Show Status Info Overlay)

It removes the status bar at the bottom.

@TbGbe:

Tools/Settings/Tabs (Show Popup Thumbnails)

I've got it already checked.

• It's just occurred to me, are you trying to display BOTH - which isn't possible?
Popup Thumbnails replaces the full name balloon when activated.

So if you want full names, turn Popup Thumbnails OFF
If you want Thumbnails, turn Popup Thumbnails ON

Note: you can have both if you turn Show Tab Thumbnails ON (note NOT the Popup setting)
But then they are all active and you have to drag the address bar up and down to display/hide them.

It was possible in one of the previous snapshots. And it's still possible for stacked tabs.
When will be this fixed?

• I confirm that the mouse over currently only works for stacked tabs.
I support the request that the full name of the tab (at least the active one but preferably all) should be easily available.

Did you write a bug report for it?

https://vivaldi.com/bugreport
You will receive a reply email with the bug number VB-xxxx
and you can then reply to that with a link to this thread.

However, the bug tracker is only available to Vivaldi and insiders, it is not publicly available. So the only way to know it has been solved is to check each Changelog as it appears.
