I have the download to default location unticked. Now when I download a file I can't find where it was downloaded to. I have opened the side panel and right clicked on the download to open containing folder with no luck. I have tried everything I can think of. Now I have one question, "How do I find the files I download?" For now I need to use Firefox (FF asks where I want my downloads to go) to download files, so does Chrome. It seems that Vivaldi won't ask where to send downloads. btw, I even have the download box empty. Attachments:

It's true, a better behaviour from Vivaldi should allow to open it anyway even if the default download dir is empty.
The files are saved in current Vivaldi directory:
C:\Program Files\Vivaldi\Application\1.5.609.8\ (your version may vary)
of course it's advisable to set a predefined directory you like.
Found a "work-around". Bit of a pita but worth the trouble. It should ask where to send downloads each time just like Chrome or Firefox. Wish the devs would fix this.
- Right click on Vivaldi desktop icon.
- Click "open file location"
- Right click "downloads">Create "desktop shortcut"
- Right click desktop icon>click "Rename">Vivaldi Downloads
- Right click Vivaldi Downloads>"Pin to Start Menu (Classic Shell)"
note: I have Classic Shell installed. Classic Shell is a nice little piece of software if you like the Win7 or XP Start Menu. Download Classic Shell from http://www.classicshell.net
