No page loading indication given in some cases
-
Quite often when I click a link, I cannot determine if the page is loading or not. The only indication is that reload button has transformed into stop button. Later on, usually very quickly a loading bar in address bar shows up and disappears. So between the click and this I can't really tell if the page is loading. See image. I second this. At a point, we cannot conclude whether the page is loading or not.

Hi, I had the same problem since 1.4 something snapshot.
I played a bit with vivaldi://flags some time ago and today I set all to default again.
After restart Vivaldi 1.5.604.4 (Developer Build) dev (64-bit) all pages load super fast and i have no blank pages again.
You can find setting of flags in help > about menu.Cheers, mib

Hi,
I also second the OP's request.When a page waits for the server response (not yet receiving data), the progress bar (background color in the URL bar) is not yet displayed ;
The favicon in the tab is also not impacted ;
So the only visual clue that your click was taken into account is indeed the reload button becoming a stop button (at least on http sites, https has the side-effect of a disappearing secure icon while loading).It is indeed insufficient, especially on sites that take some time to load a page. I othen found myself clicking a link multiple times, because I didn't know if Vivaldi had started loading or not.
In 1.2, if I remember correctly, the progressbar immediately displayed a full background (as in "not loaded at all"), then used to progress as it does now once Vivaldi actually receives data.
It would be nice if that behavior, or any other stronger visual indication, came back or was implemented, to tell the user that the browser is actually waiting for server response.
