@m2h2 Calendars are stored in profile folder (see Vivaldi → About) in database file Calendar.
You can restore it by overwriting the file from your daily/weekly local backup of profile data. I hope you make regular backups.

@m2h2 I ask internally about the issue.

      Thank you for asking!

I didn't find any backup on Vivaldi, although I thought the calendar file would be regularly stored wenn synchronizing. The calendar file I had exported on my notebook was empty. Guess it was overwritten the last time I exported the data.

@m2h2 said in [Calendar] CalDav Calendar not showing events (VB-115638):

I didn't find any backup on Vivaldi

Vivaldi Sync is not meant as a backup tool.
So you had not made own daily backups over week/month to a local device for your important data? Sad.

And you do not see calendar for your account at webmail.vivaldi.net?

@m2h2 This is quite weird. The message you get from the server suggests that the calendar is not found on the server, seems like it may have been deleted or lost somehow.

As DoctorG suggests, have you tried logging in to webmail.vivaldi.net and checking if the calendar is available there?

      @DoctorG

Webmail.vivaldi.net was one of the first things I tried, but the events don`t appear there either.

As I wrote, I did export the calendar:

"The calendar file I had exported on my notebook was empty. Guess it was overwritten the last time I exported the data."

No daily export, because - although I read that Synch is not meant as a backup tool - I rely on Vivaldi and its excellent performance. And I never had any problems with my calendars before. Using Outlook for decades, there was not one single data loss. Unfortunately, I gave it up when starting to use the Vivaldi calendar and stopped to put events in it. Simply because I think Vivaldi respects the privacy a lot more than Microsoft does.

Having not only a local but a synched calendar version on Vivaldi and exporting from time to time seemed secure enough to me. So if I translate your "sad" with "bad luck, but your fault, i...", yes, my fault, because I was used to the security of my former calendars.

Thank you for your message. Weird is the right word, I think.

@m2h2 Is there a chance you may have accidentally deleted the calendar? It is too easy to do from settings in vivaldi. If you hit the '-' button on the list it will permanently delete the calendar. It does pop up a warning dialog but it's still too easy and we have to fix it.

I have contacted one of the guys from system administration and he was going to have a look and see if there was something he could do. Just to be sure, your username is m2h2[at]vivaldi.net ?

@m2h2 He came back to me and said that there is a calendar containing 436 events for the user [email protected].

In vivaldi settings for calendar accounts, do you have your account listed there? If so, does the username contain the domain as well (@vivaldi.net)? Furthermore, are there calendars listed in the Calendars section below?

You could try to remove the account and adding it again, if it is a remote account then removing the account itself should not cause any damage. Just be careful not to delete the calendars themselves from the list in the Calendars section.

So sorry, I couldn't get back to you earlier. The wifi here is very slow and we have a lot of troubles these days.

So my calendar items still exist, which is very good news. Although this is "only" my private calendar, these items are important for me.

To answer your questions: yes, the name is right, and no, I didn't accidentally delete the calendar as far as I remember, but there is always a remote chance that one of my cats hopped onto the notebook...

In settings right now there is nothing listed, it's a new page with only a local calendar form, as when I started the first time (as shown in the screenshot ). I don't remember if my username originally contained the domain.

Does "Removing the account" refer to removing the entire Vicaldi account? And how do I do it without deleting the calendars?

Couldn't the calendar items be restored from the system administration, where they have been found?
Sorry, maybe a silly question, but if they show up there, why don't they show up when I enter [email protected]?

Thank you a lot for all the searching!
