The Official Vivaldi.net Bug Thread (Not for Vivaldi browser!)
-
3 January 2014 Vivaldi.net is an ongoing project. If you find a bug (or feature ;-)), you can check this thread to see if we're working on it. We will try to keep this updated as often as possible. Please help us make it a good experience for everyone! Requests have moved to their own thread:

For want of a better thread (and feel free to move my post to a more appropriate thread if you find it improperly placed), is there any way to block OR place another member on Ignore? I think this is an important feature that needs to be addressed in order to keep things going smoothly here. Thanks.

What is fixed:
This is not a comprehensive list; just the most recent and popular issues.[ul]
- Edit and delete buttons. You can now fix errors and delete those duplicate comments.

Excellent!
Great to know.. Using already to correct that bunch of slips & mistakes there, in my blog's comment boxes.Gracias again, debbie! (happy)

James, I'll investigate to see what's possible and let you know. If not possible, we will have to add it to the possible future enhancement list.

Notifications oddities and problems
I noticed that the notification emails are multipart/alternative and contain both a text/plain and text/html part. This is great that there's a text/plain fallback.
However, the text/html version just specifies the URL to the post as plain text and not as markup. This is a problem as many clients don't linkify plain text URLs in HTML message parts (only in text/plain message parts).
In short, in the email, the link to the post isn't clickable unless I switch to text/plain view in my client.
Simple fix for now would be to do:
URL: [https://vivaldi.net/forum/suggestion-box/112-any-plans-for-vivaldi-files/1033](https://vivaldi.net/forum/suggestion-box/112-any-plans-for-vivaldi-files/1033)
in the text/html part instead of the current:
URL: https://vivaldi.net/forum/suggestion-box/112-any-plans-for-vivaldi-files/1033
for example.
Of course, the content of the text/html part is rendered altogether anyway at the moment as it's just a copy of the text/plain version and doesn't use any HTML markup.
A simple fix for now would be to wrap the HTML part in a PRE element (and HTML-escape any textContent that needs it). Or, until the text/html part can be formatted correctly, don't include it, don't make it a multipart/alternative message and just have a text/plain part. That will fix the link issue too.

Hello Debbie !
I've installed the application "Tasks", but there is no relative button in my profile, wheras "Notes" "Feeds" and "Calendar" work well.
Concerning "Feeds", I have two ffeds, one works well , the other one seems stuck on the day I installed it and guess which one : "Vivaldi forum rss" ! And the "View all" link is "https://vivaldi.net/" not "https://vivaldi.net/forum/index" or a similar one.
Thanks.

A few more hints : "Tasks" in fact apears in the default start page, not on my profile page . I have installes "Photos", but it is only available in the "My applications" page to change the settings, nowhere else.

This is how it appears for me.

That is how it works. These are very simple applications. There are some modules here on Vivaldi.net that were coded separately, but work together. So sometimes we see these features and we wish they were more robust. Let us hope for more functionality in the future.

is there any new updates coming for vivaldi.net this site is amazing and what exactly is being improved to the email client? is there gonna be a new design for the email part in vivaldi.net ?

 I thought "login/logout" was the simplest one, but this unary operator "install" beats it  ..
Anyway, thank for answering, I suppose there are many new habits to take here .
-
they must be working hard on bringing vivaldi.net the best content so thats probably why they haven't did a new update yet

Don't forget to add to the list the galaxy-sized one …
The perpetual need for RE-Logging In.
Wouldn't want an entire galaxy to fall through the cracks. -
They worked hard indeed, and probably they have some rest by now .

Do you mean, after some latency, the need to login again ?

I think you want to remove eBay link button from the forum post editor. It looks like a helping hand to spammers

Sgdgandco:
It can be that I step away to get something to eat and BAMM! When I come back, I have to log in again.
It can be that I accidentally delete the Vivaldi Tab and it's HELLO Re-Log In.
Opera Browser has being throwing random "Opera Needs to Restart" messages for quite a while now. After every one of those, it is – Welcome to the Have to Re-Log In for Anything Club.
When I use Photoshop, it's very preferable that I shut down Opera Browser lest my computer throw a BSOD. Well, when I start Opera Browser afterwards ... Gotta Log In into Vivaldi.
After every BSOD (And my computer throws them like door prizes) I have to Log In again.
I jokingly mentioned somewhere that I'm afraid to blink because there's a 50 - 50 chance I'll have to Log In into Vivaldi again if I do blink.

#Kunena div.kmessage-buttons-row { line-height: 14px; /*this is the reason. use 1.5em or better: remove it */ }
There are several other of those "quirks" and I would like to write the line numbers and the solutions too, but debugging minified CSS is a real PITA, see
line #1 of https://vivaldi.net/components/com_kunena/template/blue_eagle/css/kunena.forum-min.cssI can remember having told that to someone when he saw a screenshot of the forum with my rudimentary userCSS for this page and he wondered why the problem is not visible with that. :p
This line killed it:
#Kunena .kicon-button, #Kunena .kicon-button span { line-height:inherit !important;}
BTW: Generic setting of styles and then overwriting them again and again in the page CSS is not good for the rendering performance of the page. The stylesheets really need a major cleanup, more than 10k lines in the unminified CSS is quite a bit too much for my taste …

To Suntana
I'm using Opera usb 12.02, and sometimes (after 2-3 hours of inactivity) I have to login again but I have no crash. I don't check the "remember me" box.Concerning the email, they are not synchronized ( https://vivaldi.net/forum/suggestion-box/80-sessions-on-community-and-webmail ) .
Maybe a try would be to login without the "remember me" and without entering in your email to avoid a crash. But if it works, it would a strange social network where you cannot be remembered, nor looking at your emails !!
