The Logo is a little ugly.

The Logo of Vivaldi Browser is a little ugly. I think, the style seems is out of date.
-
?

Oh, gimme a frickin' break.

The problem with the logo is that it's a V, for Vivaldi. And for a V, it's probably the best you can do with it. You can't really do much with a V . . .
My only thing with the logo on the W10 taskbar and start tile is that it doesn't fully look like the About Page in Vivaldi. That, and the fact that you would think because the V in the logo is very round that Vivaldi browser would also be round, but it started off very square before themes came in.
The logo is pretty good. It's not ugly, but I'm not amazed at the wonder of it's design. It's a simple V.

Yeah, but so was the offered "logo." It was so outre' I had to assume it was meant in sarcasm, and was therefore deserving of my figurative groan.

Exact. The logo of vivaldi not is worse that any other of the others browsers. With so many suggestions there in the Forum, some important, complaining of the logo, ehhm..

Don't know about ugliness but the logo looks awefully similar to perforce/helix
-
Yeah, no.
-
And like the logo of Vevo, and other logos with V
-
Yeah, no.
"Yeah, no" what? Sameness is not an opinion, you know! I use both applications and you definitely don't.
The colors are basically same. Font is different and one is hexagonal, other is squared. But those things require me to actively differentiate, defeating the main purpose. Icon are supposed to be iconic.

Not "awfully similar" In other words, not identical or very similar font on identical or very similar background. For instance, Arial on octagon versus Lucida Sans on Hexagon, same background color. That might seem "awfully similar." Vivaldi font is not remotely similar to the perforce font, square looks nothing like a hexagon. The hex value of the backgrounds is almost similar. That is all. Your personal difficulty in telling one shape from another is not equivalent to a similarity in icons. What apps I use is not relevant to how similar things are.
If you sort of "key" your vision to color when selecting items from the taskbar, and keep the two close to each other on the bar, then it's inevitable you would mix them up when in a hurry. But the same thing can happen with the QuickBooks 2015 and Evernote icons, whose background hex value is quite similar, but which look nothing at all like each other (a black elephant head versus a white dot-matrix greater-than symbol?). Same with Vivaldi and Textmaker or even Olde Opera. The solution when colors are too similar is to keep them far apart on the taskbar and remember what general region of the bar each is in.
