@burnout426 @hstoellinger It is already possible to add several email addresses in a Contact; just click "Add another Email".
It is not perfect, tough, while they do get added as a group to the To field, but not to Cc or Bcc, where they have to be added separately.
-
@yngve Indeed.
Can you confirm a bug though?
In the Contacts panel, create a contact named "Test" and add 2 addresses to it.
Then, switch to another contact and then back (since there doesn't seem to be a more straightforward way to exit the edit dialog).
Then, right-click the "Test" contact, choose "edit" and click the "-" button next to the 2nd address to remove it. Then, switch to another contact to get out of the edit dialog.
Then, switch to the mail panel and click "Compose".
Do you get broken compose page with a JS error about forEach() having to do with addresses?
If so, you'll have to restart Vivaldi to get rid of the error.
-
@burnout426 I have already deleted by test contact; but I think it is better to file a bug about that.

the email addresses should be in the Bcc field
Well said. It's never explained enough that it's important when the people in the mailing list don't know each other. CC: should be used only if the recipients know already each other emails.
-
️Sending mail addresses to others by To: or CC: can violate GDPR laws. You can get fined.
-
@DoctorG Like all things it always depends on how it's used, if all the addresses on the list must be aware of the email and the people who received it, i don't think there are problems with the GDPR, or am i missing something?

GDPR is about linking/storing personal data... a bunch of e-mail addresses would only be a potential problem if you are also revealing all of their real names next to the mail addresses - and if these are unwittingly being "made public" to others without their consent. I think you are unlikely to raise questions unless you send to a very public-facing grouping.
Obviously if you start sharing other details like phone numbers and home addresses then that really is into GDPR territory...

@mossman In my specific case i am speaking for the work environment, and often the email address consists of [email protected], therefore the real name and surname are almost always present.
I have some work groups with up to 30 email addresses and entering them manually every time would be unthinkable, I'll go through the problem starting from a previous email with "Reply to all", but it's still a trick.
It's one of the few things I envy about Outlook. -
@Folgore101 You can create a note with a comma-separated list of email addresses like this:
[email protected], [email protected]
Then, you can right-click in the To, Cc or Bcc field, choose "Insert note" and pick that note.
To easily identify the note, in the notes panel, you can right-click on that note and choose "rename" to name it something.
-
@burnout426 Interesting, i hadn't thought of that. You had a great idea, from the first tests it works well, one more thing fixed.
Now i just need them to fix the functioning of Outlook365 emails with customized domain and i can also use Vivaldi Mail in the company. -
@rtransformation Exactly. I'm too bored with the Chrome PDF reader. Edge has by far the best PDF reader!

I'm sorry if this has already been commented on by someone else, but when the interface zooms out, this problem occurs. I'm on Windows 11 -
@JuniorSilva30
Hi, I see this on Windows but not on Linux.
Do you meant User Interface Zoom in Vivaldi or the Windows display setting?
Which OS do you use?Cheers, mib
-
@mib2berlin I'm sending an image because my English doesn't help, zoom in on the Vivaldi interface, I'm using Windows 11 in the latest version
-
@JuniorSilva30
Ha, I am to old to zoom in, I always zoom out.
I will check on Windows 11 and come back to you.
If I can reproduce it you can report it to the bug tracker.Cheers, mib
