“Sabbe sattā kammassakā, kammadāyādā, kammayonī, kammabandhū kammappaṭisaraṇā yaṃ kammaṃ karissanti kalyāṇaṃ vā pāpakaṃ vā tassa dāyādā bhavissanti.”

“All beings are the owners of their kamma (intentional actions), they are the heirs of their kamma, they are born from their kamma, related to their kamma, and have kamma as their true refuge. Whatever kamma they do for good or for evil, of that they will be the heirs.”

If their is no intention to cause offence, then no evil kamma is made. If anyone takes offence, or holds others in contempt, that is their own evil kamma.

Without wanting to polemicize I would like to give my opinion:

1.- The dog has been subordinated to the human being for more than 30,000 years, and during that period man has given him love, shelter, petting and brushing; and therefore it has totally internalized in his DNA this relationship with man.

As long as it remains within that subordination, the dog will act as it has always acted.

But it only needs to get out of it to go back to being what animals have always been, creatures of nature with no love or loyalty for humans.

In my country there has been the situation of dogs that have been abandoned in the cities, they have gathered in the countryside in packs and begin to kill wildlife and livestock.
There have even been cases of attacks on humans.

      e3d33a01-ab4e-448d-ac37-91f07f166a93-image.png

2.- The phrases “the dog is man's best friend”, “will love you unconditionally”, “will be loyal” or "will always he happy to see you" sound good, are very nice, even funny but intellectually wrong.

The mind of the human being is complex being able to think and feel a wide range of feelings, and therefore to compare the behavior of the human being with an animal that only behaves based on its instincts is ridiculous and denigrating.

@barbudo2005 I think you should respond by creating a new topic and not write in the aphorisms & quotes & statements thread.
My statements following from what you wrote:

      My dog does that.

      1. Do you understand? His. Not a stray, not belonging to someone living in another city but his.

There are two kinds of people in the world. People who have the humility to try to learn by experience, and people who suffer from arrogance and are incapable of learning.

Take pity. Nobody spoke English in Aristotle's time. You can't find the orginal then at least give the name of the translator.

"Nowadays, anyone who wishes to combat lies and ignorance and to write the truth must overcome at least five difficulties. He must have the courage to write the truth when truth is everywhere opposed; the keenness to recognize it, although it is everywhere concealed; the skill to manipulate it as a weapon; the judgment to select those in whose hands it will be effective; and the running to spread the truth among such persons."
      (Bertolt Brecht)

"When we look at the universe, what we see by eye or with our telescopes is only five percent of the universe. The rest, 95 percent is dark. Dark meaning, first of all, not visible to our instrument. Second, dark also indicates our ignorance. We don't know what's the composition of this part of the universe."
