[FEATURE REQUEST] Retention policy
-
I would like to be able to set a retention policy for all the folders – inbox, sent, trash, spam – i.e. determine how may days a message stays in such a folder, and what action Mail has to take after that period, such as moving to archive, another folder or delete. In this context it is important to be able to have the Trash emptied automatically.
That way I don't have to spend valuable time going through those folders and moving/deleting messages.
Thunderbird has that feature and I find it extremely useful, essential even.
Vivaldi is all about customization and workflow efficiency, yet the lack of this automation feature goes against workflow efficiency.

@Granite1 Writing as I made a similar post and would also love to see this. My goal is to make Vivaldi my main email, and this is something that is necessary for me to make that switch.

I had been using Thunderbird for many years, but when I discovered Vivaldi's mail client I was sold.
No, it is not perfect, but what I particularly like are the single key shortcuts. For example, if you want to reply to an email message, you click on that message in the message list to bring it into focus, and then just hit
R
for reply, orF
for forward, and so on. It is so much more fluent. But the lack of retention policy is something that annoys me too. My advice, FWIW: as always, you have to take the rough with the smooth, determine what is most important for you and stick with that.
