It makes sense to do this in the wake of commercial pilots and the US military being given guidance on the topic and finally a standardised way to report anomalies (although that is still happening at a painfully slow pace).

Shame it is decades late, but at least things are moving forward in a more visible way now.

All we can hope is that those in power realise we do actually know a lot more about what is going on than the media lets on.
It's a goofy topic but the universe is kinda weird and gets stranger the more we learn about it, so maybe being alone on a ball of rock in an infinite expanse of other balls of rock is actually weirder than the fact that we are not alone.

@Dr-Flay, it is clear that all governments investigated it simply for air safety, both for commercial and military flights.

It is also clear why they do not want to publish the results of their research, because it involves technologies that they do not want other governments to know about, nor their ignorance on this subject.

This is why they publish only in dribs and drabs. Until now they have only published testimonies without any real proof. Some theories are not very specific either. A lot of blah, blah to pass the time due to the obligation to publish something, but without really specifying anything.
