Yeah, it seems like a bug in the dark theme, or at least a lack of optimization.
However, it has been like that for a very long time... And I remember having already reported it more than a year ago, because it had been already a very long time before that issue was present 😛 --> VB-45000
In general, I know that Vivaldi has a tremendous number of tickets to deal with, and that they can't make immediately happy everybody.
But I must admit that it's kind of a shame that such small issues (one value to change in the CSS code) can not be treated more quickly. Difficult to be a small team with impacts on so many users! ^^
Speaking about dark theme and "quick win", an other simple CSS value update could also make the background of the panel icons transparent. Having a light grey square on every webpanel icons in the dark theme is quite inelegant. Same thing, sadly also reported long time ago.
@Alex_Sig There are several existing requests on Sessions, such as Sessions Panel.
The Open Session dialogue is limited to listing about 20 or 30 sessions. This was reported as a bug already.
I would like to see a few improvements to the Open Session dialogue too:
A scrollbar is obviously needed.
The setting to Open in the Current Window or a new window should be remembered.
A Search Bar has also been suggested.
@cheve11e_191 You could add a million options like that and they all make sense. But the more options, the more confusing the process of creating a theme – the user becomes overwhelmed. As long as the people who really care are able to do stuff like this with custom modifications, there is no point in introducing such things by default. It likely does more harm than good.
@luetage , thank you for response. I tried to play with modifications, but the CSS structure is too complex, and I'm not that good at web technologies to accomplish the task. Also, hardcoding a different value doesn't solve the problem. I need to maintain dynamic nature of the tab container. It's just the max width is annoyingly narrow.
