I think that Vivaldi is not a browser for people who only use it to check their mail, post on a social network and little else. For this, of course, the EDGE or any other also works.
It is not worth getting into deep discussions in these cases.
@darkutopian there is a known issue with Twitter on older version with Vivaldi that appeared just recently. The way to solve it is to make sure that you're using its latest version 3.3. To do so, please check vivaldi://about
It should be running 3.3.2022.45 as shown below. 🙂
@xyzzy thanks for the link and you're right. It's "software only" rendering. Some of the "problems detected" show:
Intel HD 3000 driver crashes frequently on Mac: 592130, 661596
Disabled Features: flash_stage3d, gpu_compositing, gpu_rasterization, flash3d, accelerated_webgl2, accelerated_2d_canvas, accelerated_video_decode, accelerated_webgl, flash_stage3d_baseline
Some GPUs on Mac can perform poorly with GPU rasterization. Disable all known Intel GPUs other than Intel 6th and 7th Generation cards, which have been tested.: 613272, 614468
Disabled Features: gpu_rasterization
Rendering artifacts on older macOS releases and Intel GPUs: 794819
Disabled Features: accelerated_2d_canvas, gpu_rasterization
I'll try an override and keep a careful eye. Thanks again.
@elektriknathan There is a new Snapshot in which the bug has been fixed.
[Regression] Twitter web notifications do not work (VB-26048)
Can you try that out and confirm whether it works for you?
Disclaimer: Don't update your current Vivaldi! Install new instance as "standalone", so that it doesn't interfere with your current installation. You can easily get rid of it later by removing the folder where it was installed.
