It is correct that Vivaldi does not have this functionality. It would be a useful feature to add and I have created a ticket in our BTS to remind us of it, VB-113492. We do have a lot of things to work on and limited capacity so I can't promise anything but I hope we can add it in a future release.

@Kimsman said in Create task from email: @janrif This helps, but you don't get a link to the email. I like to create a task and then link back to the email that caused me to create the task to get the context/background and be able to reply to the email to let the sender know I've completed what they asked, if relevant. @Kimsman It seems that Vivaldi may create a URL along with the event under certain (but not all) circumstances. There's a wonderful (independently created & maintained) program named "Zoot" by Tom Davis which does exactly what you want and anything else you can think of with any kind of data. It's an amazing piece of work that Tom has been working on for years, maybe decades. And.....there are some brilliant people on this forum who may be able to figure something out in Vivaldi's current configuration or to fashion a requested improvement for the future. I was thinking that every email has an identifying # and that may offer a solution but that's way over my head. Anyway, good luck and Happy New Year.

@mesnitu you can just leave this thread, I'll ask a moderator to close it. Discussion of the feature should take place in the other thread just so things don't get scattered too much. @mesnitu said in emails to tasks: When you say that you created a bug report, does that mean it's being implemented? If it only were that simple This is a user forum, meaning that the developers sometimes participate, but it's mostly driven by volunteers and the community. The community tries to give good feature requests visibility with a voting system, which just means to add a like to the first post of a feature request. The more likes, the more community members see value. The devs work primarily in their internal bug tracking system. The creation of the bug report just means that there is a clear link between the tracker and the forum. Sometimes devs will show that they are picking up on a feature request by adding a tag here on the forum such as In Progress, Pipeline and Nice to have. Our feature request isn't highly requested - enough votes that it doesn't die, but not too many to spark a lot of interest from the developers. I think it's underrated but somehow that's the case with all my feature requests

Thanks! I'm started to use JTXboard, it has more features and it seems works perfectly with DAVx5.

@fatimatavery94 said in Needed features for Notes/Tasks/Reminders: I know it's frustrating when the tools we need don't quite deliver. I've been exploring online notes recently, and one feature that caught my eye is the ability to set notes to vanish after reading, which helps keep things private. Regarding your needs, it sounds like having a seamless sync between desktop and mobile, along with robust task and reminder capabilities, is crucial. It's tough when apps like Vivaldi fall short on mobile functionality. Hopefully, developers catch onto these needs soon. In the meantime, experimenting with different tools might uncover a solution that fits your workflow.

The colors are supposed to be taken from the server. Not really sure if they never did for google tasks (Google (willingly or by accident) has a weird combination of CalDAV and proprietary APIs for calendar clients) or if this is a regression. In any case, color not coming from the server is a bug. There have been also requests to be able to locally override colors for online calendars. This has not been implemented yet, but we'd like to add it.

Yes, I had added the zenkit calendar and I can see it's events on the vivaldi calendar. But none of zenkit's tasks show on the vivaldi calendar. Tried it with all events and only tasks. Seems to only sync events not tasks.

On https://help.vivaldi.com/mail/mail-get-started/mail-settings/#External_content_in_emails, there are options available to allow this per-contact, not globally.

@Hadden89 I am installing Mint daily, initially to get rid of trackers now my Mac fails(the SCSI is bust/ overheated). So I notice tiny things here. Like the front page has 2 download buttons. Vivaldi has "Save As" so it can download OS images to other partitions. Here, there is "Browser, Mail, News, Community, About" lines takes me to the Community discussion about Mail, and not to Mail. Put that beside the icon and add "mailcount" when logged in on Webmail. Please explain in CSS how to capture that mail arrives. "Mail" should go to login page. I use the address bar. There is no "local" profile for anyone, just community Id and mail log-in and sync Id. You have to make special local Id, - like Knuthf:local as different to Knuthf:sync and Knuthf:mail. Tell Jon that Sintran is back. I prefer this order, because the suffix is a clarification of scope, just as a service number/port number. So digits are not allowed and "Hadden:89" is not, "Hadde:n89" will be less than "Hadde:n90" - you probably have a reason for making "local" and "public" profiles. I have "local" for own LAN, the same subnet. And I see a need for "Group" and "Project" identities, to be flexible and allow people to move around in an organisation.

@Hadden89 since this is Vivaldi, configurable sounds good Overall I think the default must be to show everything except thrash and spam (which are obviously unwanted), because it is much more problematic when some emails are missing than if too many are showing. A setting that changes this around may be good for folks like you who really understand the implications, but then again, if you really know what you are doing then just ticking the few readily available toggles shouldn't be much of a problem for you, right!? Finally, turning the default around would immediately break all filters that are made to narrow down already filtered messages (old school one would call these subfolders)

@jumpsq said in Hide Filtered Mails From Views: unfollowing message threads. Isn't this is a separate feature request? It also reminds me of a feature request of mine to allow hiding mails where I'm only in cc https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/77039/new-filter-toggle-filtered-to-filter-for-only-cc-d-and-more I guess these are feature requests that mostly pertain to business (or business-like) contexts rather than personal/home mail use.
