@explorerthegeneral I just tested it, and other than needing to update an event handler to bring it up to date with 5.1.2567.73 (see original post for updated code), it should hibernate background tabs in all open windows.

One thing that the mod won't do is hibernate the active tab of any given window (even if it isn't focused). This is more a limitation of Vivaldi than a conscious choice I made while writing the mod. However, this behavior does make sense. Any active tab will need to be loaded again instantly, so it doesn't make much sense to allow hibernation for active tabs.

But it got me thinking, looking at the code (and I'm no coder), it looks like it could be modified to loop through all the windowId's rather than just the currently active one.

It is looping over all tabs rather than windows. The beginning section with the mention of the current windowId is for one of the config parameters. Here is a more thoroughly commented section of the relevant code to better explain it's function:

@LonM neat! btw the simplest way to get to the console (shift-ctrl-i on various mail pages wasnt working for me), is to click on the mail symbol in the status bar, then the cog icon, then "view log"

@guigirl Fair point, only shows it’s important to follow guides. But this is only valid for the hooks mod, everything else belongs beneath bundle.js. In any case, you should always test mods without any other mods running to find out whether they work for you. You cannot expect that all mods play nice together and it is impossible for a third person to determine what you should do to make everything work together without having access to your full code.

@luetage What I thought. So my small experimental extension (colored scrollbars) is probably broken due the fix of the issue plus the recent changes. Seems I have (to try) to learn few chrome APIs now 😕

If you open a search and you CTRL+click many links they open in a tab stack.

@VoidsX For me the repeat site itself is completely broken. Make sure it works on Vivaldi before trying to create javascript that uses it as endpoint.

This can be done native in latest snapshot, archived.

I changed out the fills with colors. The native CSS sets fill to currentColor and the icons set their stroke to currentColor, so using color instead should handle both custom icons and the default set.

Your "changed(2)" codes, together with some other mods, are used for my Vivaldi UI, which now looks as follows (minimize button hovered):

By pure guesswork on my own, the codes are modified to display a red background for the CLOSE button.

It's noticed that the width of the CLOSE button in the maximized window is always 5px narrower than whatever the width value is set in the codes. But that's quite all right for me. Width is normal in a shrinked window, though.

To keep the dragging function of the header, the min-height property of the header is set to 1px.

In order to move down the Vivaldi button and the window control buttons to the Address bar, one may wonder why I don't just select "Vivaldi Button" from the Settings. I can't because of a mod I use to place the Tab bar below the Bookmark bar. See https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/507175

That mod is intened to do the job when horizontal menu is used. If I select "Vivaldi Button", although the horizontal menu will disappear as expected, the Vivaldi button and the widow control buttons will remain on the still exsistent header (I mean the Menu bar)... above the Address bar. That's no good.

I'm really glad that your mod solves the problem.

By the way, there is another mod that moves the Tab bar below the Address bar to which it also moves both the Vivaldi button and the window control buttons. See https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/490714

But that mod has a drawback:"No pop-up from the Address bar can appear." For instance, when you click the Vivaldi 5.0 Download button or the "hide extension" toggle, nothing happens. So I don't use that mod.

A new version of the utility vivaldi_run V. 0.2.1 has been released
