so Vivaldi should have this functionality as well.
I have upvoted your post, but I would not like this feature without a turn off switch. In turn, I would like to have a box behind the favicon with the front color of the given theme.
A workaround for now is to use the Window Panel. There is little danger of muting a tab by accident when selecting tabs, but you can still click the icon to mute or unmute a tab.

@gmoss In my case, since I tend to stack tabs by domain, that option would not help me at all.
I agree that for your workflow the thumbnails are not helpful. You can disable the Popup Thumbnails in Settings, Tabs, but that only makes it harder for large tab stacks (OK for five or fewer).
While you're waiting for this option, take a look at the Windows Panel. That is currently the best place to manage Tab Stacks.

@andydelz Not just eye-candy for those with lots of bookmarks and icons only. Larger icons make it quicker to recognise the site without having to read the tooltips.
Tooltips are still necessary though as some bookmarks may share the same icon.
@maxkarlernst Given that I'm a long-time Vivaldi user (since one of the first Technical Previews), by now, I should know the Vivaldi browser inside-out, right? Wrong!
I configured my SD some time ago and haven't really changed it since. Earlier today, I wanted to update thumbnail of one of my bookmarks. First I tried to figure out why there is no reload button (for some reasons they're not available in Private Windows), so I tried to add a custom thumbnail and remove it right after. And what did I do? I deleted the bookmark, of course. The lack of "Undo" (or [CTRL]+[Z]) action support in addition to the lack of "Restore" functionality in the trash is also a pain when you accidentally remove something (especially if you have a lot of bookmarks folders).
So, I agree that this button is a bit counter-intuitive (or at least misleading). A good old-fashioned × would be better IMO.
I woud recommend a pulsating color of the tab which have a sound, something playing and not only in stacks but also in a regular normal tab. So to be very visible which tab has something playing. Two type of tabs should be very visible, active tab and tabs with playing sounds in the background. Good suggestion! 🙂
@Turrican Hi, there's a more recent request which has amassed more votes than this one, so I'm marking this one as a duplicate.
The two users who also voted for this request might want to vote for this one instead, as it will be seen more with higher vote count.
