@dragonfrend Really strange for such a good new card, and that it seems to work on Firefox/Chrome...
Maybe there are some special flags you can set to avoid it happening in Vivaldi, but I really don't know.
For some reason I only tested the browser flag force color profile sRGB and P3 and none of them worked. I now for some reason tried to force the one called "scRGB linear (HDR where available)" that I dont know what is, and it seem to have worked.
Working like a charm on version 3.5.2115.81 installed just now. Thank you SO much, I absolutely need this site to stay sane and was resorting to using it on another browser in the background.
Have a wonderful day!
For anyone else following, this is the VV team reply:
Thanks for reporting this issue.
There is a known issue on Chromium side so we decided not to do anything for this at this stage as it is not a bug on us.
Here is the link in case you would like to follow up.
You can check if disabling 'Use Hardware Acceleration when Available' (via Setting > WebPages) setting can work this around or not.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for your time writing us this report and for using Vivaldi!
And, having tested it, I can confirm that switching Hardware Acellearation off, as suggested, fixes the issue.
@Gwen-Dragon I had the same problem as @SteveGraham also on Debian-like system, in the similar time & version span. Has anyone yet figured out whether this is something that changed in Vivaldi, in Debian or what's up with this?
For those interested in this problem, I finally changed my graphic card (an old no-name Geforce GT610) by a newer Asus GT 710 with recent drivers, an everything work fine. The question is : why was the problem with Vivaldi and not with other browsers (or much less) ?
@Gwen-Dragon said in Poor performance switching between tabs on a Wordpress website:
As the issue it is not really reproducible, you solved it by disabling HWA, there is no need to report.
Will there ever be a case where I might need HWA enabled? Or is it generally a life-time enable/disable toggle...?
It definitely was the driver. After posting this, I noticed other applications mis-behaving over the following days. For those that find their way here, there is a hotfix for 445.75 (445.78). I haven't seen it show up in GeForce Experience, but here's a direct link: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5009.
However, this hotfix did not fix the issue with my particular hardware (GTX 1050 on XPS 15 9560).
Die Video Wiedergabe geht wieder, alle Videos kann er Vivaldi Browser wiedergeben,
Ich habe gestern Abend Vivaldi komplett deinstalliert.
sudo apt-get --purge remove vivaldi-stable
