The left and right side panes on the Forum are indeed triggered by swiping from the edges, and I have to admit I was originally surprised by this behaviour when I first discovered it as there's no obvious visual prompt that this feature exists.
Also, a large number of Android apps with page-based navigation (not just browsers*) use side swiping for back and forward navigation - or such is my experience.
*For example, I have an app for bus passes which goes back to the ticket select screen on a left-to-right swipe.
We have a selection of Help Pages about Vivaldi on Android here: https://help.vivaldi.com/article-category/android/.
Below each article there's also a feedback button, so if something is missing, you can leave us a message there. 🙂
@e7777z777 Opera 12.18 uses Ctrl+Click on Images to Save Them. I think it is easier than a gesture, but it does need the keyboard to be used too.

Does anyone use gestures to navigate windows explorer? I use the three-finger-gesture to navigate back and forth. But in vivaldi, going back is going back in URL, not page by page. I can't find the option for this behavior.
With the back-button from the mouse, it goes back page by page.
there a context search app from chrome store with tons of search options but to be honest i doubt it'll work here - It seems like search is a no go area for the Vivaldi team
I'd already be happy if i could change the default duckduckgo wasteoftime option - privacy what is it go for when the search engine has **** -
I really liked the fact that Vivaldi had note taking built in and the color coded tabs. Opera with extra eye candy - I think all browsers using chrome engine are bound to some rules set by Google -
clearly how else could such a progressive browser end up being so constrained when it comes to search.
K-meleon where are you ??
@nito What I am talking about is not smooth scrolling of the preferences. I have noticed the existence now. When I install Vivaldi, I recommend installing the application to macOS by Vivaldi. I think that it is an add-on attached to it.
Correction: Swipe navigation works intermittently in Vivaldi 1.6 RC!
It was working fine then it suddenly stopped working! If I open a page in a new window and click some links to generate history, it starts working again.
I've reported the issue and hopefully they can get this working reliably again soon.
