Hi there. There is a long history bug on translate function for Chinese users. You can see some similar topics in Chinese forum like https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/70319/翻譯沒法記住選擇語言. I have to say it's not a fatal problem, but it is still quite annoying.
You see, when using EN(US) as UI language, Everytimes I click the translate buttom in the address bar, it should set EN(US) as the default target.
However, when using zh-CN as the UI language, the default target will become 阿爾巴尼亞語(Albanian) which is the first language provided by Lingvanex ordered by chinese.
Even if we choose the target as 简体中文, the translator will not remember the selection for next times.
I guess the problem is that support languages list of Lingvanex does not contain zh-CN, zh-TW and zh-HK. It only has zh-Hans and zh-Hant. You can check it on the Translate Internals.
BTW, this problem also affects the translate panel lol.
@Streptococcus Keep in mind that I made that comment more than five years ago (before I joined the Soprano team) and at that time, Vivaldi did not yet have a Bookmarks menu; only Speed Dials, a Bookmark Panel and a Bookmark Bar. We did not get an actual Bookmarks menu until Vivaldi 1.15 got released in 2018.
What do you mean by "missing basic features like a Bookmarks menu"? I have a bookmarks menu item for Vivaldi in my Mac's menu bar. I also created a bookmarks menu on the bookmarks toolbar inside the window for convenience.

leaving fullscreen (like fullscreen YT videos) doesn't work on Linux
In my latest Snappie 5.3.2679.13 it is working fine [Arch KDE]. However, i do sympathise with you, because historically my V has had various periods when it has not worked.
Question: Have you verified the problem also in a clean test profile [eg, vivaldi-snapshot --profile-directory="NewTestProfile" or vivaldi-stable --profile-directory="NewTestProfile"]? I ask coz at least one time when i was having the problem, i was dismayed to discover that whilst it was not working in my Default profile, it worked fine in a Test profile [implying something was buggered in my Default] -- maybe this might also apply for you?
In logical troubleshooting, as well as actually following the numerous forum posts/threads already extant, accurate terminology is vital, lest the community from which one seeks assistance misunderstands. For instance, computers boot, whereas applications launch/start. Repeatedly incorrectly stating in one's pleas for help that the browser crashes on boot, is completely misleading -- until i eventually realised the OP was simply being carelessly inaccurate, i was contemplating why Vivaldi was even attempting to launch during the computer boot cycle. It's just silly & unhelpful to say factually wrong stuff like this.
As @npro has already accurately observed, the simple fact that a clean profile apparently launches correctly, utterly proves that the underlying problem lies within the OP's Default profile, & is not the fault of Vivaldi per se, nor some hardware incompatibility. As also plentifully documented in the forum, there are specific [albeit tedious] methods available to proceed in ascertaining the specific file/s in Default which have caused the launch failures ... but if an OP is unwilling to pursue these, after creating the initial request for help, then it seems it was all just a waste of people's time.
Having bitten my tongue til now on this point, i finally remark that the OP illustrates once again, as has happened so many times here over the years, the risk users incur when they obstinately insist on using tabs instead of bookmarks &/or sessions.
@enajin My hardware is similar to yours, but here a new window opens in less than half a second. What is the time frame that you are finding "slow?"
Vivaldi is not using native elements built into the system to build the UI, and so it is not instantaneous (it is built like a web page, and hence the ghost of a delay for a new window, plus hence all of the customization of which Vivaldi is capable) - but .3 sec vs .01 sec does not strike me as "sluggish." Your standards may differ.
@exist2resist Interesting. Today there has been a Snapshot update, you 're talking about it? Do you also have Intel Xe Graphics? If so, try an older kernel since you 're saying it was running ok with F35.
Or try disabling just the rasterization with --disable-gpu-rasterization.

Apparently if you have "Show Declined Events" turned on in Google Calendar, they also show up in Vivaldi. Obvious, really. Forgot I had turned that on in Google Calendar.
Thanks to all of you for the help!
@COVOSO I cannot reproduce this here. How are you doing it? What exactly are you doing to delete reply messages that also deletes outbox messages?
(Depending on how you use terminology, aren't replies and outbox content the same exact thing?)
(From my personal account rather than my work – richardcoxdcsl – account.)
Now I have a little time to mess with things: looks like latest update to Tab Activator was the root cause. Replaced with Tabs To Front v2 which doesn't suffer the same problem.
PS. middle click option – open link in new tab – that opened in the foreground would avoid need for an extension (unsubtle hint :-)).
Thanks for your help.
