Caching issue? Try a Forced Reload with Ctrl+F5.

In the same chrome://settings/system there is also a "background sync" setting which needs turning off also.Have to dig for the setting unfortunately but it is there.

@aegiswiz Vivaldi is not doing this. Either something that infected Vivaldi is doing it, or system alerts are being shown over top of Vivaldi, and being mistaken for Vivaldi.

@Stardust I thought this had always been possible, or maybe it was the tab key. But somehow I was navigating the speed dial in our TV with the keyboard.

@scottedwards2000 I'm surprised you only run into this on a browser restart. I run in this from time to time on a tab especially if I'm browsing a gallery of images and after about 20 or 30 images (maybe 25?) I can only go back that many and the remainder of the tab history is gone and the back arrow button grays out (and this is not about sites that try to hack the history for their own benefit).

@Saarinene You're not crazy. Amazon hasn't been loading for me since the last Vivaldi update. Reloading Amazon (sometimes twice) usually resolves the issue. Still, it's annoying. Not just Amazon either. Sometimes when there's heavy traffic or my CPU is taxed beyond normal (another note I see someone complaining about re: Vivaldi) this also happens on a number of similar sites. Amazon is extremely taxing on a browser as well. Besides feeding you a million ads (80-90% blocked, thank God), they're reading 20-30 cookies w/all the info they know about you, what you looked at last, what web site you came from ad infinitum. So, IF there is a glitch in the last upgrade (re: CPU usage went way up message in forum) that would massively slow Amazon and similar sites to the point it just renders the page w/o the css info. (It looks like it didn't load... it did, just not how they wish you to see it.) Seems folks are gaslighting about this glitch. (i.e. Nope, works here, you must be crazy) Vivaldi will fix it in a hurry as they don't want this problem. They'll lose users by the dozens if it lasts long. It is a great browser, but things go wrong...

@geoken I think the issue is, do the developers want a "Vivaldi" branded Safari, or actual Vivaldi, since recycling the UI elements ties their hands as to features. Edge and Brave have not tried, and will never try, to make anything as configurable as Vivaldi.
