I used Vivaldi as 'Opera-Presto' in Windows.
Somehow this 'Vivaldi' seemed more agile and visually appealing, to me, than the higher-level Windows operating system.
Somehow 'Vivaldi' showed me how to do it, basically better, whereas Windows seemed to me to be the problem.
So I tried the GNU/Linux as 'Ubuntu' in a 'dualboot' system and was delighted with Ubuntu.
I also had the impression that Vivaldi, the former Opera-Presto (the engine under the bonnet), ran even smoother in Ubuntu at that time.
So it can be said that I came to GNU/Linux through Vivaldi.
Through the open source messenger Jabber/XMPP on my mobile phone, Android, I came into contact with the original 'Debian': Stable, Unstable (Snapshot 😀 ) and Experimentel (Soranos 😃), with the desktop: 'KDE'.
Today I don't like Ubuntu's philosophy so much and it became too colourful for me.
Today I am as enthusiastic about Debian as I am about Vivaldi, every time anew.
I also think Debian is very beginner-friendly because of the GNU/Linux: 'Q4OS', a Debian is installed like a Windows program next to or completely with Windows, great.
On Jabber/XMPP there are also several, good Debian rooms.
This is, in short, my story of how I came to GNU/Linux.
Thanks, for this good topic 😉
