@mossman I don't see the benefit of this at all. My shortcut opens the mail panel with the last used folder in view.
Generally, that is the Received mail so that I can quickly check recent messages, whether they have been read or not. Others may prefer to use the Unread folder. I get that.
If I was last checking my bug reports, then the Bug label folder will have focus. It would be annoying if the Received folder always got focus.
If anyone wants to do everything with the keyboard then having to use more than one shortcut is unavoidable. At least one will have to use (for example) Ctrl+Shift+M, followed by down cursor a few times.
The only problem I see here is that the OP is hiding the Panel Toolbar with F4 instead of hiding the mail panel with Ctrl+Shift+M. What Ctrl+Alt+Y does has not been answered. It is not a default shortcut.
@qbi-wan not sure what you mean... the main inbox shows mails from all mail accounts. You have some toggle switches in the search field above the mail list that allow you to switch what is shown and what is not
@janrif said in Mailing Lists & Deleting (2 Questions):
I'm running into emails that don't delete. What's that about?
Isn't this the same thing as https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/61894/email-delete-not-email-read-not where deleting messages on the server worked.
If it keeps happening, have you or can you file a bug?
@wolfgang I think that is a different problem. The ghost messages apparently were a counting problem - messages that are not there are counted. Yours is the other way around: a message that should be there is not. Is your issue resolved by rerunning the filter as was described here? Does the message appear in all of the account imap folders where it is supposed to show up?
Instead of reinstalling Vivaldi completely, one can also try to rebuild the database as was described here
I can understand the OP's confusion since I suddenly got this pop-up for the first time ever a few days ago (and I have been using Vivaldi on many devices for years) and was briefly worried since it's on a corporate laptop which constantly gets new "endpoint solutions" (i.e. blockers) installed. My first thought was: "Oh no! Don't tell me they've stopped me from using Vivaldi!!! 😲 "
But I quickly guessed it was an OAUTH thing for my GMail account since it mentioned Google as well as the Vivaldi logo. A bit weird though - I set up the account with simple user and password in the mail settings, and this pop-up appeared after I logged out of a Google webpage (it was about to make me join a business meeting using my personal profile...).
The way they mix up all these logins and store it all in cookies etc. is very confusing and dangerous in my opinion (same thing with Microsoft trying to log in to my corporate fileshare with my Hotmail account all the time!).
Not happening to me any more, but it's quite apparent that there has been an issue before and possibly there is an ongoing issue with Mail / RSS / Calendar.
The same happens here from time to time, but for me most of the time the format looks like that:
But sometimes it is just the same as your's.
Anyway this only happens, when I try to answer mails. Never with new mails.
@ayespy right 🙂
the original post (from November just after the first experimental mail release) mentions that the mail account was also missing in the settings, which would be a different problem, and one that has not been mentioned in the forum ever since.
Hi, for me Gmail mails load fine.
It depends on many things why you got old mails or cant delete mails.
Do you use IMAP or POP3 for receiving mails?
If you hit DEL it move the mail to trash, if you hit Shift+DEL it delete the mails on the server and local permanently.
You can use Shift+Click to mark a row of mails or Ctrl+Click to mark one mail after another. Ctrl+A mark all mails and Shift+DEL delete them all in one rush.
For old mails are still there they never got delete on the server only local. It depends on the settings in your old mail client.
I set up M3 for a friend and we got 3000+ mails in the trash can because he never empty it on the mail server.
