Snapshot 1.0.303.32 - Beta Candidate
-
We are very close to moving on to the next quality level. Today's snapshot is not technically a beta but… we are very close!
-
And to answer the questions before they arrive. Yes, we never stop working! :p
Who needs a weekend break when there are bugs to fix!!!
-
Well done!
There are still bugs (or missing functionality) related to tab thumbs - which I am sure you are aware off:
1. No thumbs for background tabs
2. Pages which refresh in the background (e.g. yr.no), will lose their thumb
Any plans to fix these?
(Win7x64 Vx32)Keep up the good work !
EDIT:
2 seems to work fine now. My mistake. Sorry. -
I am not a technical user but an everyday user. I came across Vivaldi about 4-5 builds ago. I compared it to my Firefox, Google and Opera. Vivaldi is now my default browser. I Love it!! Goooooo Team Vivaldi

Tab container bug
OSX El Cap
Tabs on left.
If you have more tabs than will fit vertically, a scroll bar is shown but does not scroll. -
Not on this snapshot, sorry. Testing yr.no now …
I am also losing my Speed Dial thumbs (have to reload them).
-
A Sunday Snapshot? Nice work. It's so great to see this browser developing so quickly!
Not sure if it's a bug: Middle mouse button does not open a new tab when clicking on the tab bar for me. I think it worked a few builds ago. -
Same here: Windows 8.
Up until the latest releases there were no scrollbar (if they didn't fit on the screen), but that could have been amended by adding
#tabs-container.right, #tabs-container.left {
overflow-y: auto;
}
Yes, with scrolling the tab list the tab switching also occured (which I don't see as a helpful feature anyway), but I couldn't find a quick way to disable it, and, after all, you could kinda live with it.
Now the scrolling not working at all. -
The x64 installer on Windows still does not ask for elevated rights. Installation fails if Vivaldi is installed in "Program Files" (where it belongs and which was the default when I installed it initially in the early days).
This prevents the automatic update from working.
I have to manually start the installer with "Run as Administrator".
Before going Beta, I think it would be good to fix this. It's the only thing I personally find "experimental" about the x64 buildCheers,
Tom

You are losing Speed dial thumbs in this snapshot or are you still talking about the previous one.
There are fixes to thumbs in this snapshot so comments from a previous snapshot may not be relevant,. Try this new snapshot first.

Thank you, it's getting better with each build! No major bugs what stops Vivaldi being my primary browser anymore! Hope you optimize CPU usage in the future unless it's something to do with my Linux distro :lol:

This snapshot.
I had to reload them all. Now they seem to be OK. -
The ability to drag a tab to a new windows is a feature I've been longing for for a while now. Was hoping it would be here by the beta. Otherwise everything is super

GMX MailCheck extension don't work, please fix VB-9592.
-
Windows 8. When several windows are open, switching from one window to another sometimes initiates infinite fast switching between windows. Couldn't find the exact way to reproduce, though (For now let's just say it's 4 windows full of tabs.)
-
Multiple windows in Vivaldi still have strange issue with search in context menu (tab with search opens in every window) VB-9775. Very anoying on multimonitor systems.

Dont forget to give us an option to disable autocomplete inside the address bar, instead show the suggestion as a list (old style)
