Site Title Quick Edit
-
Hello, I'm 1 of those ppl that like to be able drag and drop links to the desktop/folders on occasion and sometimes the title is too long and the browser would refuse to drop it bcs of this reason. I would really appreciate a feature that will allow you to change the Title of the web page. Like a quick dialog box, but anything would do. I know this may sound like not a feature worth investing time and effort in, but 1 of the main effs I have with the current Opera (Chropera how I call it actually :P) is that they even removed the option to drop links from the book Bookmark menu, and there's no way to DnD links from from the address bar to the desktop r a folder which really baffles me why they did considering Chrome has that feature and you drop a link pretty much anywhere you want. At least last time I've checked. So if Vivaldi can dnd links anywhere as well and add the Title quick edit it would definitely win a few points over Opera in productivity for me.

I don't have that problem even with a long URL like this: I can still drag it to the desktop. It's easy enough to edit the shortcut title on the desktop. There is not much point in editing a title of a tab that will change if you refresh the page since it is read from the HTML code of the page.

Yep, pretty much true.
However, very useful for when the title is long ass one that won't even be allowed to drop onto the desktop/folder. You could edit it rather quickly with a quick edit option rather than picking through the source every time. Maybe if Presto was around. :3
I am not really pushing hard for this, just decided to drop it as a low priority usefulOther than that, there are many other things worth adding first.
And my main eff with titles and drag and drop with "modern" browsers is that unlike Opera (Presto) the main problems are these:1. When you drag and drop a link from the address bar, it drops rather the url than the title. I dunno why this is with Vivaldi, when any other browser (even the 64 bit ChrOpera) now does that properly. You literally have to correct every single link you drag from the address bar.
2. No other browser seem to let you compare the bit sizes of the link, extremely helpful when you want to do a quick check whether that's the exact same link or just sharing the same name, as the bit size most times differ. I haven't seen any other browser that does this, except maybe god awful IE, which I haven't used for years. Basically unusable crap since IE 6.
3. For some vague reason, most other browsers drop links in a rather random fashion. All over the desktop/folder, rather than consecutively. Only the old Opera and Vivaldi (i think =3) aren't doing this now. ChrOpera does the same thing like FF, dropping l-bombs wherever it pleases, unless you drop the shortcut with extreme precision. I dunno about IE, but I have no intention on using that, nor the Edg_e browser.
Vivaldi seems like one of the best options out there, if the drag and drop and the password manager lack wasn't an issue I think it wins hands down. There's also the absence of the Rocker Gestures customization, I guess I can find a 3rd party extension for that hopefully. I miss the ability to switch left and right through tabs with the mouse buttons. Glad I can at least mod the keyboard shortcuts so I can have Tab and Q cycling.
I use tab the way Opera used it, for last used and Q for cycling through tabs the way FF/other browsers does.
At this point I only lack proper drag and drop function and the lack of editing context menus.
Maybe I should make a topic about that instead. ^^
