Tony's Story on Vivaldi
-
Don't get me wrong, I like Tony, but honestly I hope he will soon be gone from my email panel!
-
Who in the team designed it or if it was externally made I would like to know the designer as I think its cute.
Also, I know this is not a huge way to get funding, but pet toys, t-shirts and other things with Tony that fans can buy is a good way to create branding and get some funding. Similar to Firefox stuff or Android stuff.
I would like a t-shirt and a Tony on a my office desk as well.

Maybe a snowman thing?
-
Tony Vivaldi… oh, you guys.
-
Well, it depends. See this twitter post
seems like we could get a snapshot this weekalso Jon seems to confirm it see his post
-
about some new languages… Well, do not expect it that soon. First some needs to translate it. Would you? Just about 37 languages are (more or less) "ready". Rest still needs some volunteers to do so.
-
Man is it only me checking for new Vivaldi snapshots more frequently than checking for new email? Love Tony, too.

Like Tony I take my hat off too for this very very promising browser. Keep the new ideas coming you have won me already!!

Good idea in general but it ends up wrong if I'm not wrong.
Better profit is from selling it for as low price as possible (almost give it free) to sell as much "ads" as possible and earn money from new users because of they saw a T-shirts with Tony (VB) and so on. It's a great way of advertising but small margins are made here when selling (not mentioning how small base we are ATM).
(not even minions are that profitable to fund a browser developing - not even as a side funding) -
Hi Terere - glad you like it! The first version was made by me, after Tatsuki (I believe) asked for something fun, and then we did some iterations within the design team. He will end up on t-shirts in the future, we'll let you know when that's ready. But the first priority right now is the browser, of course.

He is indeed kind of funny~
-
Sorry I'm telling this, but he's ugly and annoying. I personally hate him, he's more a joke than a classy thing related to the name "Vivaldi". I prefer a note symbol which has a volcano on top of it instead of this Tony.
-
OMG. Please, no.
-
More or less, this was just a matter of time when someone says that. Don't be sorry. You have right to say what you think about things. On top of that, it's natural that all just can't like him (as all just can't hate him).
Anyway, I have right to disagree with you and say opposite and that's what I'm doing now. I just love that guy!
-
there already is an email notification (as it occurred as a bug, no email client but I was getting email notification a few builds…)
so if a small Tony appear with an envelope in his hand instead of some blurry icon of envelope or whatever... what's the difference for you? I would not mind to see him there. I even would prefer him over some "stupid" envelope as oldOpera Mail client does.

Why do I keep hearing faint echoes from back in 1957 with Jerry Lee Lewis belting out "Goodness gracious, great balls of fire!"?
-
make a Tony assistant that will answer questions (like Clippy in Office)
-
or make Tony shimeji that will occasionally steal Vivaldi window
