Tab stack tiling, on demand plugins in tabs, more mouse gestures, better import and a more snappy UI

BUG: If I have a tab with vivaldi://mail (which is not working) other tabs will not be displayed after a restart, but they will be loaded and listed in the task manager. And it causes some other problems as well.

custom buttons with ability to replace anything in UI.. would be awesome. In Opera12 i replaced new tab button (+ icon on the right of tabs) with the same icon, but different behavior: when clicked - it simply opens new tab. But when i hold mouse button - it opens new private tab!
I also replaced show/hide panels button (on the bottom left, near sync status and opera turbo) with another + icon - clicking it opens new private tab, holding it opens new private window!i would love to achieve the same in vivaldi!

"1. Mouse gestures work in FRESH instance, but do not work in upgraded instance."
To reiterate the sense of my earlier post, if and when this bug is addressed, PLEASE PLEASE include a setting somewhere (and publish the "where") to allow a user to disable mouse gestures entirely. I absolutely don't want any mouse gestures, and have been fortunate enough to not have any in all of my Vivaldi versions to date (each applied as an update). My concern is that at some not-distant point, I may have to fresh-install and the gestures will suddenly be there with no way to shut them off for users like me. -
"Better than this was the original Opera manner of customizing … Where every button or spacer (fixed or dynamic) known to man for every kind of function in the browser (and many buttons written by users that the developers never thought of) could be dragged to any toolbar, any toolbar could be positioned on any side of the UI, and every bar could be turned on or off."
To my thinking, this is one of the Holy Grails of a truly customizable browser.

My most nasty showstopper until now has been the UI responsiveness.
As it's now quite better, my next big problem is the lack of frame, source and image operations in context menus (like they were in Opera 12, and like they are currently in PaleMoon).
And from the small irritations – I still occasionally get this odd bug of Enter not working in the address field. -
dragging and dropping bookmarks/bookmark folders and scrolling several pages up is still a problem
-
bug: couldn't use enter key in the url

This bug came back. Was fixed in previous version

I'm using Adguard. There's nothing wrong with it…?

We know about that shortcuts update bug. Look out for VB-4525. It's fixed internally already, so it'll most certainly be in next snapshot.
btw: you can make it work by resetting your keyboard shortcuts (and re-configuring thereafter again) -
They definitely do, touchpad is no different than mouse. Although it can be less covinient to use mouse gestures on it, except rocker-gestures.
If they do not work for you, this might be due to a bug that mouse gestures do not work on upgraded Vivaldi install. Install Vivaldi afresh then.
-
BTW, in rocker-gestures, after holding right-mouse button, you can press left mouse button multiple times to go several pages in the Back history.
-
I can confirm this problem. Sometimes loads the thumbnails, but others never without any logic.
-
I installed an extension that exports Opera bookmarks to html and imported in Vivaldi with no issues.
-
Do you mean the bug that shortcuts do not get updated during installation process - upgrade to new version?
So from now on FRESH and UPGRADED instances should work the same when it comes to keyboard shortcuts? And the problem with Enter not working in the address bar will also be eliminated? You mean I should look up for VB-4525 in the upcoming changelog(s), right? OK.
I only hope that also the Ctrl+Left triggering Back will be fixed along with the keyboard working in the upgraded instance as in the fresh one…

Win8 x64 - partially works.

Would it be possible in the next update to allow speed dial folders to be created as necessary by simply dragging one link over another? Thx.

Hmm, they are not duplicated anymore. Maybe a restart of the browser helped. It might have been some one-time, hard to replicate, minor happening.
