Holy Zarquon! I had no idea about this -- terrifying to someone who only came to Linux a few years ago, & who needed lots of online tutorials to learn much basic Linux stuff, including various terminal commands.
It's ok now though. Thanks to both of you for posting this scary info, i have now knitted a nice tinfoil hat for my computer, used my scissors to cut all its cables, & thrown my modem into the rubbish bin. After lunch i will dig out my old logarithm tables, & sliderule, but if i feel i'm still vulnerable, then i'll have to dust off the old abacus. I dooooo hope there's no sneaky abacus hacks just waiting to get me !!
Seriously though, thank you; i learnt something very useful.

Beware ...any proficient mathematician can simply bypass your abacus and use his fingers.
