Video playback problems
-
The first problem I have noticed is the problem with screen blinking. I noticed that in Vivaldi 1.4 or earlier. The screen is blinking when the video is in full screen mode.
I've recorded this to show the problem:
https://youtu.be/AS3uizfHp6I
In this 25 seconds the screen was blinking 4 times.
The second problem I have noticed today. The videos are not smooth.
Please watch following two videos with other browser (not Vivaldi), in full screen mode and HD quality.
In this video the problem is visible if you look at subtitle text. On first part the text is not smooth, the edges of the text are blinking.But the problem disappears after I've disabled Hardware-accelerated video decode from flags which is enabled in Vivaldi by default.
After making this video I've got a better idea how to show the problem.
Just watch Video 2.The video I've played in Video 2 is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqWiNnRvQsU. You can test it in Vivaldi and write whether you have the same problem or not.

No problems whatsoever here

@RammsteinAM If you use a Nvida card you might want to try something @Crysto posted 4 days ago: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/13160/fullscreen-youtube-playback-enabling-g-sync
I am not completely sure you share the same problem but I think it is worth a try. -
@zaibon
There is no G-Sync in my Nvidia control panel. I've downloaded Nvidia Profile inspector separately, disallowed GSYNC - Application State for vivaldi.exe, but that did not work for me, videos are still flickering. -
Hi, you can check hardware acceleration, copy past > vivaldi://chrome/settings/search#hardware
If you switch it off all encoding is on CPU but should not a problem with actual CPU, work fine even with my core2duo laptop.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin
Thanks. It works at least for smooth playing. But I'm not sure whether it will solve full screen blinking problem or not, because even after turning off "Hardware-accelerated video decode" from vivaldi:flags (about which I wrote in my first post), this problem does not disappear. -
