Drag and Drop

@Ayespy OK and thanks very much for your help. I'm sorry I misled you with regard to the proper teminology for the sidebar. There's no possibility the 32 bit and 64 bit stable versions are different is there - or the Windows and Linux versions? It only began running differently when I did a Linux sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade yesterday which is something I do every day to make sure everything is up-to-date and all security downloads have been loaded. I noticed a large Vivaldi upgrade (30-40Mb) was downloaded.

@BazP - There is a certainty that the 32-bit and 64-bit versions are at least slightly different. And certain things may affect Linux which don't affect Windows. For a full look-see I will have to fire up Linux. That said, my Linux is 32-bit - so we'll see...
-
Fired up my 32-bit Linux Mint 18 (Sarah), updated my snapshot and installed the stable. Dragging links from Pinterest works in both. You might refresh your profile and see if that helps.
-
@Ayespy Thanks again for your help, I've done a complete profile refresh and the problem still persists.

I just tested on 1.6.688.1 win10 x64
And i can pull them straight in to the panel. -
@Steinh Difference might be that you are using Windows. Problem only manifested itself after a Linux update but thanks for your input.
-
@BazP Just tested again on Ubuntu 16.04 and it works there too. So either it has been fixed or it's something on your end.
-
@Steinh It may be a Mint 17.3 problem. I can drag and drop anything else to the Bookmarks sidebar so I'll see if I can get any guidance from Mint. thanks to all for your assistance.

@BazP Just another observation which may or may not be relevant for those who have shown an interest in trying to help me resolve this problem - the Home page of a "Pinner" no longer shows the number of "Boards"; it no longer shows the number of "Pins" and the "Likes" tag (which opened up to show what other "Pins" the "Pinner" had marked) has disappeared altogether although it can be reached by typing "likes" at the end of the Pinners address. I can't believe I'm the only person who uses Pinterest with Vivaldi and Linux Mint so, if it isn't a Vivaldi anomaly, does anybody have any idea where I should look for a solution. Just as a matter of interest I can drag and drop Pinterest links to the Bookmarks sidebar using Firefox.
-
@BazP - that symptom sounds like you are using some kind of content blocking. And Pinterest looks totally normal on my Vivaldi on Mint (Sarah) 18 (as far as I can tell, anyway. I barely use pinterest).
