How to clear "entered" stuff in the address bar
-
First... Hello at all... I'm new here and since yesterday I'm using Vivaldi as my main browser... And I love it.
Just one thing I wanted to ask... Is there a way to clear this stuff from the address bar?
Clearing history and everything isn't doing it. Maybe there is away to disable it? It's a bit annoying to delete every entered entry on it's ownThanks in advance

@Kishido - Click on that "X" at the end of the highlighted strip.

Thanks for the reply but that is just working for one entry and not for all of them at once
-
@Kishido - Sorry - no way to clear them all at once at this time.

Well thanks... maybe in the future.
But other question instead. Is there an option to disable that the address bar saves the entries?

@Kishido - Don't know. Perhaps if you disable auto-complete and
Show Address Popup Menu in the address bar? -
@Ayespy Only as a workaround. You won't see the history entries right as you type, but they'll be saved in the history and you will lose both the popup menu and the autocomplete functionality. That might be an inconvenience for some people.

TL;DR - try private windows or post a feature request
The workaround that I use, is that I do most of the stuff in the Incognito mode (private windows). I got used to it and it's actually recommended to use private windows when you're visiting webpages, that you suspect of containing malicious scripts - and by definition you should be suspicious of every webpage, just with a little exception of the most popular ones - those with a good reputation. But remember that even a website with a good reputation could be infected with malicious content, as a result of a hacker attack. So you should be suspicious - and thus careful - in general.
A common example is when you click on a link that your friend has shared on facebook. If you open it in the session where you're logged in to facebook, a malicious script on that page can get access to your facebook account and use it to spread itself further away (by sharing the link on your profile, sending messages to your friends etc.). I've seen it myself many times.
To avoid that, you shouldn't click on the link in the first place, but if you really want to check it out, just open it in private window. This way the malicious script cannot get access to your facebook account automatically. Of course, in many cases it will pretend to be legit and it will ask you to login to your facebook account (to verify age or whatever reason they might give), so you can get yourself "infected" anyway (if you're naive), but so far no one has created the technology, that would be 100% efficient at protecting us from our own stupidity...
Using private window is also good for protecting your privacy, if you're - for example - logged in to Google, but you don't want them to know what you're searching for (technically they'll know, but they shouldn't connect this to your account). There are extensions to help you protect your privacy, but they are a good supplement to private windows, not really a replacement.
Back to your question - there's no native way to prevent saving typed addresses into the history. There are several workarounds - the one proposed by @Ayespy, using private windows for entries that you don't want to be saved or setting "Save Browsing History" in vivaldi://settings/privacy/ to "One day", though the typed addresses will be still there for the next 24 hours and after that time, the browser will dump not only them, but all of your history.
So, if you want it specifically not to save the typed addresses, you should probably report it as a feature request here.

Typed in addresses can be cleared by opening chrome's "clear browsing data"
vivaldi://chrome/settings/clearBrowserData
and clearing browsing data rather than using vivaldi's ctrl+shift+delete "clear private data" dialog.Use the History link at the top of your speed dial page to access chrome's "clear browsing data".
When you clear browsing data from here it also remembers your choices where
the ctrl+shift+delete method does not. -
@CantankRus - Good to know. Never having had to clear my browsing data, I've never dug this up.
